Hi
My aunt has always been happy with her simple nokia bar phones. She would text and call and if she's in the mood, take a photo.. Recently, seems she broke her trusty Nokia phone.
The interface on those phones couldn't be simpler. I'm fine with learning what new buttons and designs do.. she's not. are there any such phones still in the market?
Before I go again searching for new "flashlight mobile phones", Can anyone suggest simple Android phones? It would be nice if she could get whatsapp messages from the extended family so she could keep up with the babies popping up nowadays.
Any suggestions appreciated,
Thanks
Adnan
How about any Android phone with a custom launcher? Search for "Simple launcher" on Google Play and you'll get an idea.

Thanks Adnan. Also on recent Samsung Galaxy series phones, there's an option called Simplified interface or something similar. Yeah, that would work. I know about that.
But I'm also looking for cheap but good android phones. The phones I had before from Samsung and HTC stock loaded with all kinds of bloatware. I wrote that the first time I wrote this post but somehow it wasn't posted. Session timed out and I was logged out i guess..
I narrowed down my choices to either ::
another Nokia bar phone, the simple flashlight phone,
or a Motorola Moto G.
Both I can't find anywhere. Any help appreciated.

Something like the above would be better than installing a custom launcher. More responsive if it's built in from manufacturer, or so I ignorantly imagine.
GreatCall Samsung Jitterbug costs $100 on Amazon.

Android phones and simple don't mix. Android is laggy and complex, which makes for a horrible experience for older people. I had the same problem with my parents. Two iPhones later, the problem is gone.

I'm pretty sure you can find a launcher that you can install on any phone that would simplify Android
Nonetheless i taught my grandma how to use her Android tablet and the learning curve was steeper than i thought

I had the same problem looking for a phone for my father. I walked into 5 different stores and got five different answers. The most important thing is to find something with a big screen and to take it slow with them. They want to know everything about the phone before learning the basics. Ended getting a Samsung (cant remember model) and it seems to be working out right now.
Will try the simplified interface though--less choices, less probability of error.

so nobody knows where I can find a Motorola ?

slabo smarphones are the best grandma-phones in my opinion because they are very intuitive. My grandma had trouble reading and deleting messages on her nokia (in fact I think she never managed to do it), when given an iphone she immediately got the sliding navigation and tapping on apps. I think smarphones are in general more intuitive to use and it makes a difference.

I highly recommend that you get a XIAOMI cellphone if you want something that runs android , that's way cheaper than Samsung and also, you can buy the xiaomi band that will unlock the phone when your aunt is wearing it , and it also works as a pedometer and it tracks her heart rate. It costs less than 20$. Perfect combination in my opinion. Make sure to get the original ones in case you plan to order from outside of Lebanon. Both won't cost you more than 200$ . Good luck :)
