Bought an LG 24MP56HQ-T 24 inch ips panel (200$) 5 months ago, while building my rig, it's been uncomfortable for me, there's just too much light coming from the screen, I don't think it's the light in my room. I tried playing with the settings, did a lot of stuff. Including installing f.lux while it helped a little, it didn't work. When I lower the brightness black and white colors aren't 100% correct.
I got another person, to check if it's just me, and he also said there's some issue with the monitor lights. Not a computer guy. But he got mild headache while he was working with Microsoft Word on it. Praised the size but not the lights.
I didn't even do any "real-work" from the time I updated my rig. Despite being full-time web developer, I was much more productive on my laptop. Even though the hardware isn't even comparable.
If I want to describe it, it's "blurry" and too big or maybe I'm sensitive to lights or might be the screen is defective. I don't know, but it cause anxiety for me for the monitor not being perfect and my eyes hurt mildly if I'm in for long sessions.
I find the old non-ips laptop screen more neat for work. I can focus more. Tho I'd like to have my 980 GTX in use along with my rig performance.
I'm not a gamer. Tried 2,3 games from the time I updated my rig(5 months ago).
