vegetaleb Hello! So I have an interview this week for a job (at last), they asked me a photo of my diploma, this is the 1st time a company ask it from me so I wonder if: -Should I take a photo of my actual diploma? (the one in leather) -Or go to LAU and ask for a document proving I got my BS? -Or give my transcript which is still sealed? (isn't it for other universities in case of Master?)
silo_m8 The usual process is to show the "ifede" (I forgot what it's called in English. I've only heard foreign companies ask for diplomas, this is unusual.
Sab23 Just take your original diploma and go to LAU, they will give you a stamped copy. The sealed transcript has all your courses grades.
vegetaleb Can't I just take a photo or scan the original diploma and print it? I would go to LAU and do a legal ''clone'' if I am sure I will work in this company, I hate giving personal stuff to someone I don't know unless I will work for sure with them
eliminator Most probably the company is a a company whose contract's origin is EU or USA Take the original with you, and take a copy of it ( legal copy if you can), if you cannot just take a normal copy. When they ask you about it, show them the original but give them the copy. DO NOT at any cost give them the original, even if that means loosing the opportunity, my cousin lost the original in similar circumstances, and it has been two years trying to get a new original.
Sab23 vegetaleb wroteCan't I just take a photo or scan the original diploma and print it? Well you can but it won't have the green registrar stamp and signature. As @eliminator said, do not give them the original.
vegetaleb Well as I am not sure at all of the job I will just take a photocopy of it, anyway I don't have the time to go to LAU and ask it as they will surely say to come back in a week. If the job really interest me I will play the guy who didn't understand well on the phone about legalized document from the university or just a copy (BTW he said a copy without details) and that next time I will bring up all the missing documents for sure. The thing is that I need a couple of weeks to switch between my actual (but nearly dead) job and next one, I have to talk to my actual boss to mention this step and get my ''to3wid'', the guy where I will do the interview think I want the job asap like next Monday while I can't before 2-3 weeks, I am sure he will understand and as we have time I can bring the missing document(s) 2 or 3 days later. Edit: He will surely ask for a letter from my actual company that testimony the period of work there anyway
