hey guys, i want to preface this by saying that i have been living in lebanon for over 20 years but i have a syrian ID, because of that i can't install a telephone line to my home.
i will be moving soon to aoukar and i would like to know is there any ISP that can provide internet without a telephone line? i am looking for unlimited with preferably low ping, any suggestions would be helpful, thanks.

Check connect.net.lb and I don't think you can get stable ping via wirless internet.

any wireless solution will be expensive .. mobi and wise are other options .. i think luck is a big concern in your case depending on where your house will be and how good the signal will be .. check their sites to see the plans they have

Yes, and the subscription is cheap but the ping/speed are not good at all (unless you use it late at night/early morning). Just ask for "the internet guy" of the neighborhood and you should get wireless broadband. Only caveat is that you have to buy the receiver to place on your roof which could cost upwards of 200 dollars.

You most probably (surely) can find cable internet but if you want the best ping it would usually be through DSL.
Maybe you can find someone (neighbors?) to install a phone line and then share the internet on this line with them?
I also want to add that it's nothing to be proud and wrong that people would be living in Lebanon for generations and not get the citizenship, and not have the same rights (like Palestinian refugees). And what is that idiocy about needing to be a Lebanese citizen to install a phone line anyway?
I have been living in Europe for some years, and you know the thing they say about Europeans being individualistic, and other things, and how Lebanese like to have this reputation about being hospitable, well to some extent, and with some people it is true, but it pains me to say Lebanese in general are not as hospitable and friendly as that, especially when you go beyond appearances and first impressions. A lot of it is just stereotypes.
Anyway all this blah blah is not going to solve your problem.
