Greetings everyone,

Can you name some good shops that sell HTC cell phones? I am looking for an M8 to be specific. I asked Amhaz, two branches so far, one doesn't have it, the other has the gold version only. According to his online price list, the prices and availability aren't accurate.
It's not and its usually the case, sometimes they take special orders or give you estimation for when an item is going back to store oif they're ever restocking it in the future. I suggest you ask the less crowded branches because when the stores crowded enough they wouldn't have time to answer you.

Alternatively to a!haz you can go to any small cell shop and ask, but prices can differ in the range of 10-60$ from amhazs pricrs
Hey there,

I got mine from Cell Avenue in Baabda. The price was very reasonable and around $50 cheaper than two shops in the region.
I don't remember how much it cost me exactly but it was around ~500 a year ago before the M9 got released. So it must be cheaper now.

Great phone by the way.
@mmk92, I tried to contact two other branches with no luck, I got not response whatsoever.
@RoyNm, I called them today and the lady said that the prices are accurate and you don't pay any additional fees except for Aramex's delivery, just like pcandparts excluding V.A.T. I didn't order from them before but they do seem reliable. They have the M8, but I am torn between the M8 and M9.

@Totoro, I'll check them out, thanks. It is a great phone indeed in terms of specs, features and build quality. Currently my favorite cell phone. I read a lot of positive feedback about Sense's UI. After I had a lot of lag on Samsung's TouchWiz, recently it died on me out of the blue for no reason, I am not sure if I'll buy a Samsung ever again.

I'd get an LG G4 instead of the M9, unless you don't care about your phone overheating most of the time, unless it's using the 4 A53 cores only (power saver mode).

I have to agree on that one. The LG G4 in my opinion is better than the M9, and nevermind cheaper:

- Better screen, higher res and pixel density (QHD)
- Bigger, and removable 3000 mAh battery
- Better camera, with OIS and Laser Autofocus.
- Uses the 808 processor which does not have overheating issues like the 810

However it depends on personal preference mostly. Do you want the bigger 5.5 inch screen or are you more comfortable with the smaller 5 inch screen? Do you want the better speakers, or the better camera? Which skin do you prefer?
HTC did solve the overheating issue before the phone was released via a software update. According to them, the software wasn't finalized.

The LG 4G has a better screen and camera. A better value for money, however it's design and screen size aren't exactly my cup of tea. The only significant advantage for me is it's removable battery.

The M9, like all devices with the SD 810, overheats and throttles. A lot. No software update will ever change that because it's a design flaw in the SoC itself.

I had an M9 for 3 months, the overheating was less obvious with the FW update but still it could get very warm and you can nearly not holding it anymore specially during hot days we had in Lebanon, it's a good winter phone :)
The only advantage of M9 over G4 is the number of quality Roms, the G4 has only 2 or 3 roms, hopefully in the coming weeks more devs will come to G4.
But yeah the G4 is better, Peter Chou had to quit HTC because he the M9 is just an M8 with overheatings and bad camera
I am not denying that the M9 has an overheating issue, but it is strange that the SD 810 has a flaw in it's design and some companies didn't ditch the chipset, yet they're still using it in their flagship phones like Sony's upcoming Z5. They're probably still not accustomed to utilize the firmware to better function with it. I might be wrong.

I am beginning to lean more towards the G4, specs come first, but that phone is ugly IMO. Any other recommendations?
I am not considering a Samsung device after the nightmarish lagfest I had with the TouchWiz. The exclusion of an SD card is a big no for me. The main reason I am considering the M9 or even the M8 is HTC's Sense which is the fastest and most lag free UI. Besides I am a sucker for it's design and build quality. If the M9 doesn't overheat and has a better camera, I won't hesitate. Looks like I'll end up getting the G4.

So the overheating was so bad to the point were you had to change your phone?

No it was for camera and screen too, 5.5'' is the way to go now with 1440P, the M9's screen is ''old'' tech and the camera is a nightmare in everything that is not taken outside in a bright sunny day
I see, since you used both, do you think that the wisest decision would be getting the G4 over the M9?
BTW for some reason I just noticed your thread about the G4 and I am currently reading all the posts!
RoyNm wroteJust on a side note, if you're still thinking of buying the M9:

Thanks for pointing that out, but when it comes to phones and electronics in general, I prefer them new.

@vegetaleb, never mind, after reading all the feedback from the LG G4 thread and checking your review, I am convinced that I should get it. Now looking up the best place to buy one.
If you need memory expansion the G4 is really your only option right now. It's decently priced at around 430$ too. You could always go for an S6 64GB but the battery life is a joke on that device.

The G4 is the current most suitable cell phone for me and it is cheaper than the S6. I'll be checking Amhaz in a few days.
