Silentcontrol Hey I need a wireless access point/router for video streaming on a local network from an IP cam to PC. Quality is the most important thing here so if anyone can recommend one cisco or something else iI don't mind as long as i can easily find them here thank you
ironman AC is 802.11 AC (which is a new wireless standard that offers high speed) But 99% your IP cam doesn't support 802.11 AC........ Optimal solution would be connecting your IP CAM via cable to the router, and accessing the stream on PC via wireless if you want.
Stygmata a network camera with the following settings ( I maxed them out ) H264 stream , 10 megapixel , highest quality video , 30 frame rate , you will only need 50 Mbps ( in bits ) - I am sure you will use way less than that . according to wifi standard : 802.11b - 11 Mbps (2.4GHz) 802.11a - 54 Mbps (5 GHz) 802.11g - 54 Mbps (2.4GHz) 802.11n - 600 Mbps (2.4GHz and 5 GHz) - 150Mbps typical for network adapters, 300Mbps, 450Mbps, and 600Mbps speeds when bonding channels with some routers 802.11ac - 1300+Mbps (5 GHz) - newer so any router starting from the G protocol should work : TPLink TL-WR841N 300Mbps Wireless N Router this from pcandparts is 23$+vat so practically nothing and should work perfectly with ur cam ( cca for stable conx , qos ,300Mbps , good range , cost is less than 2 burger king meals )
Silentcontrol thank you guys i took all of your advises and applied them ! is it normal for the stream to disconnect if i'm 10 meters away from the router and separated by 1 wall
