My PSU is a Thermaltake Toughpower 750W not the new version, the 2006 one http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd293/leoforthewin/toughpower.jpg
I've upgraded my gpu recently from a reference 7970 to a GTX 980ti and I was a little worried if my old psu would pose a threat to the motherboards/graphics card because when plugged in the motherboard flickers and the PC will not turn on until the motherboard LEDs stop flickering. Should I buy another one? My specs are i5-3570, hyperx BLU 4gb*2,intel dp55kg,980ti, 1tb WD black, 500gb seagate, hyperx 120gb ssd.

You'll be able to run just fine. But I'd recommend you get a good PSU, that's not a Thermaltake, you don't want to give money to a company that steals designs.
@nas93 For how many years the PSU has been running on your system. I have the Tough Power Series 850 Watt 80 Plus Gold - The New Fully Modular One

http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00002130

I got it from a shop owner I know , very reliable Used on It SLI 970s , and 980Ti

There is the DPS G version which is the newest with a software that monitors the System voltages http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00002389 - I am not sure if it is available in Lebanon.

But I do not think you need an upgrade - your PSU is just good and not jeopardize the performance of the 980Ti. It is a Tier Two PSU

Tier Two

As above, just slightly lower quality. Still safe to use and are all stable for any PC of today's standards, including Haswell C Stepping certification and 100% Japanese Capacitors. It is rare to find a PSU here with Taiwanese Capacitors and perform very well here, but they are here just in case.

Thank you for the long explanation, funny I was googling tier 1 and tier 2 yesterday and didn't find my PSU. It's been about roughly 5 years but as I mentioned when I plug it into the mains the motherboard reset LEDs flicker, maybe I should use a UPS

I do agree with you on the stealing designs statement however we're living in Lebanon, finding anything other than Thermaltake will cost about twice the price on newegg/amazon for example Corsair PSUs that are twice and even more than the original selling price.

Corsair PSUs are overpriced shite, for PSUs I personally prefer Antec, XFX, Seasonic, Rosewill, EVGA, Enermax, Super Flower, Be Quiet! and SilverStone. The EVGA SuperNova G2 is one of the best 80+ Gold PSUs while being cheaper than competition.

The Silent Base 800 is a great case, what's great about it is that Be Quiet! use the same fans they sell in it, not like Corsair, who use a specced-down fan that's noisier than what they sell. It's a pretty fucking huge case, you may want to go with the Define R5 if you want silence. How much does shipping the Silent Base cost ?

Be Quiet! PSUs are of similar quality to their cases, they use FSP and Seasonic platforms, FSP isn't the most trusted OEM but it's still ahead of the likes of HEC and on par with CWT.
