  • Bothered by my thermaltake case, need a replacement

I own a core v71, but it's too heavy (solid steel) and its not thought out.
Need advice on a full tower case with a full side panel, that is on the light side, supports 240mm radiator, Atx mobo and Is easy to cable manage.

Also availability beats price.
If you're willing to get something from outside Lebanon, Phanteks are launching the Enthoo Pro M early next month, it on the light side as it's made of plastic while being very well-built, other cases to consider are the NZXT S340, the Phanteks Enthoo Pro the Enthoo Evolv ATX, and on the bit heavier side, the NZXT H440 and Noctis 450.
I have zero experience with shipping from abroad. This why I hesitate.
why do you even care about the weight? i suspect you tend to move it often? my experience with this case is nothing short of brilliant. i was looking for a case with a full side panel too, and the core v71 was the only one available here in the area, so i went for it. no regrets. as a note, please, DO NOT try to ship cases from abroad... the shipping services (such as DHL) will charge you a VERY hefty shipping fee due to the size and weight and i guarantee you that you will end up paying much much more then you intended to, but if money isn't a problem, go for it. just a piece of advice i thought you could use
The reason weight is a problem is that I miss lan parties because of my case. Also the cable management is horrible, the built-in fan controller just broke, and since I don't have enough fan splitters, now I have 2 fans which are unplugged. Also the layout isn't really thought out once your build comes crammed (sli). I honestly wouldn't recommend the case, but if anyone is interested, I would sell the case.

If you want to go to LAN parties and don't want to get cases from outside Lebanon, the Corsair C70's your friend, it has handles, so you can lift it easily, but it has somewhat bad airflow compared to many cases at its pricepoint. If you're okay with getting cases from outside Lebanon AND have an mITX mobo, the Corsair 380T is really good, it's light, as in you can easily lift it with one hand even when you have all your parts in it.

Most cases are light, of course if you tried to ship a 900D or a Cosmos II, you'll to sell an arm and a leg, but a case like the 380T, which is just an overrated and oversized lunchbox flashlight hybrid is like 10.2 lbs.
The thing is, I own an Atx mobo with sli 980s, so small form factor is not an option. As for lan parties, i have been considering building a small lan pc since I own a couple of parts (micro atx mobo, gtx 660, small case, psu) but I'm missing the rest, so the weight problem isn't the main problem. The case is clearly not thought out well, rubber grommets are in weird spots, routing of the cables results in sharp bends and the modularity and tool-less design is just a marketing scam, if you remove any part the case looses any rigidity it had, and except for the side panels all the thumb screws need a screw driver and are hard to reach. Also the layout isn't really optimized for good airflow. All in all, I did not like the case at all, but power to you if you did like it.
If I try to ship from abroad, I'm leaning towards a phanteks enthoo pro. Any advice on how to ship in the easiest way possible? Payment options, shipping methods, which retailers, etc
I think getting it from a European retailer is better as it lowers shipping fees. If no European retailer has the Enthoo Pro, consider the NZXT S340 and, if you get a Micro-ATX motherboard (most mATX mobos support SLI), the BitFenix Pandora and Aegis are excellent. Phanteks are launching the Enthoo Pro M, which is pretty much a Enthoo Pro and Enthoo Evolv hybrid, in August, it's aimed at watercoolers, but it looks like it has decent airflow, and it's cheap while being very well-built.
In lan parties we don't really play demanding games, some even play on their work laptops, so I'm not really excited about transporting my high end equipment around. I will stick with a mid or full tower. But the question is from where to ship, never done it so I'm completely clueless.
Does it help is someone receives the case, opens it, repackages it and ships it to me? If it's not for resale, do you reduce goumrouk?

-What is annoying about the Core V71 your are facing ; an alternative here will be Thermal Take Urban T81 / Cooler Master Storm Stryker (White) / Cool Master Storm Trooper / Thermal Take Urban S71 - All these versions are available in Lebanon ; however finding a full window /full tower case in Lebanon is some how difficult due limited products differentiations. You can find other Full Towers but with small windows like the Thermal Take Armor Revo / Chaser MK 1 / Cool Master Haf X etc...

- Republic of Gamers Stores Can Order from you from outside and reduce the hustle on you of shipment /customs - I ordered from him some cases since I usually do not care about cases warranty rather electrical components warranties :

Cases I Advice you to order from Outside:

-NZXT Phantom 630- Windowed Edition

-If the cases not listed in his list he can order to you one from the USA and pay all the shipments/customs to you ; ETA around 20days - I rather order such way for a case and not to enter to the side of ordering from outside alone ; an the end you go and check the case before you purchase in case it is defected he will handle the hustle of the RMA not you.

Send me some pictures of your Core V71 - I am currently Using the Thermaltake Revo Gene (MidTower) which is very adequate with good performance for - I might shift to full tower soon.
Dude, he said he wanted a LIGHTER case not a damn behemoth, of all cases you specified, the Air 540 is the only case that makes the cut.
Btw just to clarify, it's not a defective case, I just expect attention to detail from a full tower case manufacturer which is clearly absent at thermaltake in general
@Die_Kapitan

What do you suggest than for a Full Tower / Full Window or Big Window / Lighter Case and Availability then ?

@silo_m8
Did you make your mind of a full tower case of the List I have mentioned to you ?
I honestly will stick with the enthoo pro(even if it's a midtower ) because it has all the things I felt were missing in the core v71

Good choice, you'll be amazed by how much space this case has. Full towers have started becoming obsolete for anyone but the most hardcore water-cooling enthusiast, mid-towers are smaller and more compact while retaining more or less the same features as full towers.
go for the CM Scout 2 for pure mobility. I honestly wouldn't care much about the window.
