Dear all,

As we have been waiting for Botrous Hareb's magical upgrade, we haven't seen anything so far in the Zouk region. I am a suscriber to IDM with a disastrous 1MBs , and their promises of upgrades to "2mbs w tlou3" were apparently just lies. I have called nearly every provider and they say that my house (zouk mosbeh) is far from ogero's central, which is approximately 2 kms away from my house.
This is situation is getting so ridiculous . Any idea (or news) for good providers in the Zouk region ? A 2 mbs would be good for me.
P.S : I have tried calling connect but it's way too expensive for the service provided.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks !
If you're really desperate try to order the Wifi service internet. There was an ad on TV, the ping is high and it's expensive but I think it can deliver the speed you need.
@lebK .. the problem you are describing is not IDMs fault ... for the last few days a few members are putting the blame on IDM but the real culprit is Ogero and i think this goes for about 75% of the cases .. yes Ogero is the one responsible for the centrals and the one responsible for the lines and the one responsible for the bandwidth and the one responsible for the servers. All ISPs take bandwidth from Ogero if i'm not mistaken.

I don't want to defend IDM for lying about the service, they are at any certain point a company that wanna make money. So if you feel that they are lying to you i think your best bet is to change to Ogero (as other ISPs are basically leeches), in the mean while try checking wireless solutions as Johnaudi suggested (I had Mobi a year ago and they had the 1mbps 10gb for about 50$ with 150ms ping to games)

Thank you guys for the replies.

Internet has been horrible the past few weeks and it seems there there is no solution in the near future. I'm stuck with 1mbs (basically much less) and the service has been horrible with IDM. So i'm thinking of switching to Connect even if the service is ridiculously expensive. what do u think?

And any idea if there's a decent local cable providers in the area (Zouk/Adonis)?

Thank you.
switch to ogero and get the 4mbps... they will accept if you have a good quality of phone line (good quality of copper)... i m 3 km away from CO and i m getting the 2mbps and i will switch to the 6 to 8 mbps bundle..
I actually live in Zouk Mosbeh and every time i call IDM, they tell me that the test results from Ogero say that my phone line is weak, eventhough i'm like 2 kms away from Zouk Mikael Ogero centrale. It's outrageous
leave IDM and go to ogero (central zouk mikael) and apply to their ADSL... tell them you want the 4mbps plan...if they accept then it's great...if not you will get the 2mbps and it is very satisfiying... i m getting a constant 221KB/s for download at any hour in day or night and about 50 to 55 KB/s for upload... try and you will not lose anything..

Hello dav,

I have actually contacted ogero and after testing my line they told me that i can't get more than 1 mbs. Seriously this country is a joke, i live on the highway not even a village or something.

Any other ideas guys or is it a lost cause?

Thank you.
there's something suspicious about your case.... can you post your stats? otherwise if you're doubting you can have the 2mbps... contact mr charbel hanna on 70825987... he can give you professional help... not like the desk operator of ogero...

Called him man but seems there are no solutions at the moment.
Any good cable guys in Zouk ? or should i just wait for the upgrade for another decade?

The problem for some users in Zouk using Ogero, paying for 2Mbps but still getting 1Mbps can be mainly for two reasons:
1. Distance issues to concentrator
2. Old modem Setup/Configuration at Ogero HQ (not in Zouk)
Mine fell under point 2.
After several nagging visits to Ogero Zouk, my account got upgraded as it should: The Head of the local office there pushed some phone calls to HQ and the issue was solved in the same day.
Which brought me to the sad conclusion that I was lucky enough to get 2Mbps and not even dream of asking for more.

Hey guys if someone knows any decent cable guy in Zouk area I'm interested too.

2017 here, wanted to switch to IDM but I cannot take more than 1Mbps (I don't have a land line, I wanted to get one just for the internet).
I am currently using prosnet which was the best ISP but now is complete SHIT. I think I will try Wafanet. Any feedback? Do you know any other ISP that is good enough?

My parents live in Sarba and they also use Prosnet. They say (and I can affirm) that it's now complete bu**shit!

Luckily for me, I'm also with Prosnet but I live in Bouar and my internet is relatively good!
Solid 1mbps in the day (until hitting the FUP where it degrades to ) and solid good internet at night; which is what I care for the most!
I was able, for example to download the Battlefield 1 update (~5gb) in 2 nights (from 12am to 7am). That's not good but it's passable.

My reseller uses wafanet services. Pretty solid, and really low ping, about 76ms to bf1 servers. Also unlimited from 12am till 6am in case you need to download. Only gripe is that daily after an exact moment(can't remember when) YouTube can't buffer anything above 144p. Other than that, pretty good, albeit a bit pricey.

Yeah same for Prosnet; they use FUP aggressively and throttle to 50% after around 300MB, 75% after like 500MB... Too annoying...
