Low ping in cybercafes?

A friend of mine went to one of those mainstream cybercafes that you see on Facebook, he told me that they've got a stable 60 ping which is nice.
But how do they manage to get this ping? I mean in the BEST conditions you can get 80 ping over DSL, nothing less.

@BetterGoogleIt, wanted to ask the same question, i will visit one of them soon, after seeing some impressive photos, (they have mechanical keyboards, razer mice and headphones, 24" monitors.... etc)
and i person i met randomly on CSGO was there, playing with a 70ms ping...

You should check Spotnet in Hamra.
Those guys have a really good gear. Its powered by Alienware and they are using the new BenQ Screen 44' and 155Hz
What i heard is, you can go stream there and they are using Fiber Optics.(maybe that's how they achive low latency/high speed?)

How can they use fiber optics? I never heard that we have fiber optics in Lebanon

Actually we have fiber optics in lebanon.
In my hometown (bourj al shamali / near tyre) the isp have a fiber optic network and the ping is always below 100 ( somtimes it reashes 50 )

nope we don't at least not yet. the fiber optic backbone is there but not switched on.

if we have fiber optics ping should drop far bellow the 50ms to European servers. on fiber we should have ping of 20-25 ms on average.

So I went and asked the cybercafe which I usually go to and the one that has the best ping I have ever seen in lebanon, average of 60-70 (even reaches 30 ms to europe sometimes) which is Game Zone in Dekwaneh and they said it's extremely expensive as they're alledgedly spending 500$ a month on internet alone. The source of the connection wasn't stated just got the usual "jeybina khouse lal mahal" maybe he means a dedicated line? Who knows I guess.

I guess it would be a Microwave link from Service providers, where i used to work, we had a 40 Mbps Down, 20 Mbps UP, and we got it from IDM using a Microwave link from Pesco.

Not really, even inside the big ISPs right now the ping to Europe is not that low (20-25 ms), last time I checked it was in the 50 ms range.

This is pretty accurate, I used to go to an internet cafe in 2005, and they had a dedicated Microwave link with a very low latency, back then it was around 80~100 ms, and that was before the IMEWE cable ever existed.
