AliFakhoury One of my goals in my life is to become a software engineer. Now I might not know what it exactly means, but I read about it and apparently there is lots of programming in it, and programming is what I love to do. So, if you happen to be a software engineer or a person who knows some things about software engineering in Lebanon. How good is it? I mean in Lebanon. I might travel out of the country later in my life and become a software engineer in other companies but I need experience first and cannot get it except here in Lebanon. Are there good companies here that pay well and will teach me the skills I need? And what do I need to become a software engineer? I will learn computer science in university and do a masters degree in computer science, I think that is enough right? Thanks for whoever is going to reply!
Johnaudi If you want to learn Software Engineering then why are you leaning towards Computer Science? Why not Software Engineering itself?
AliFakhoury I don't think there is a major called 'software engineering'. At least not that I know of.
Johnaudi I think there is in certain universities. Just checked Balamand's website, apparently there is. http://www.balamand.edu.lb/Offices/AdministrativeOffices/AdmissionsandRegistration/MajorsPrograms/Pages/MajorsAndPrograms.aspx
ironman Antonine University offers it too, but the problem is that "few" companies give you an advantage being an engineer over being a CS. Good luck :)
Aly You are making multiple topics about the same subject, bottom line, no one will send you an offer of employment as a fresh graduate to the comfort of your home and PAY you very well and teach you all the skills you need ... Life is harder and more complicated than this. YOU should work on your skills no one will build and improve your skills except you by coding, learning and mastering a programing language (Or multiple languages), making mistakes and learning from them.
samer Hi Ali, please search before posting. The two topics you have opened have already been discussed. See https://lebgeeks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=13822
