Silentcontrol The title explain my struggle I can't make up my mind what monitor to choose for gaming I have a gtx 970 so i can handle both types Can anyone help me choose?
silo_m8 A single 970 might not be able to push those framerates on either monitor, unless you lower some graphics options. That being said, I would take a higher resolution since I don't play competitive games
tech-guru 60 Hz = 60 Fps Cap 120Hz = 120 Fps Cap 1080/120hz = one 970 Can Push Fps above 60 in some titles on Very High Settings on 1080p more smooth Game-play at 1440p less titles will be able to push the 60Fps Limit. Therefore, I prefer a 1080p/120hz and use DSR for 1440p.
Silentcontrol sorry forget to mention that i'm planing on adding 1 more gpu just waiting to see how will dx12 compare with sli
Die_Kapitan 1440p or 120 Hz, why not 1440p 144 Hz ? The ROG Swift is one of the best monitors you can buy.
Die_Kapitan I'd vouch for a 1440p screen, 1440p will be the norm in some years your monitor and monitors last for a couple of builds (not upgrades) so if you go with a 1080p 144Hz, it'll be like having a 720p monitor now.

vegetaleb Yep you won't have many games with more than 80-90fps, so 120hz is useless unless you have a super system like a sli of 970 + i7 5930. 1440p + DSR FTW
