Since my last project was a success (VPN router) because of your help, I decided to jump into the next miniature project that will improve my home network setup.

Long story short, my extended family owns a building in the mountains where all of my uncles and aunts reside during the hot summer days. The building is 3 stories tall and the modem/router is on the second floor, the whole family shares this connection. However, being on the first floor and due to the thick walls, I can barely get a signal. So I figured out I could setup a repeater in our house, and if all goes well I'll do the same at my uncle's apartment.

First things first, I figured out it would be better to try this repeater idea with my Tp-link WR841N running on dd-wrt in our Beirut apartment. I reset the dd-wrt's settings to default and followed this tutorial: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=702030

My dd-wrt doesn't have a repeater mode, so I followed the client mode tutorial in the aforementioned link. The setup was easy as pie, but I couldn't access the internet through my repeater.

It's worth to note that my modem in Beirut is a technicolor tg582n, with IP 192.168.1.254 and I followed the tutorial word for word.

Any ideas?
what did you set set the connection type, in setup->basic setup?

Automatic config - DHCP
you have to set as disabled.

on a side note your client will only give internet via the ethernet ports as it will use the wifi antennas for repeating.
Crap. I'm better off ordering a 32$ tp-link repeater from PC and parts. Too bad my dd-wrt doesn't have a repeater option.
i haven't looked at link you followed honestly, but after doing all that can you ping the other router?
Repeater functionality can be done in ddwrt but sometimes you need to forward the traffic manually with scripts just like the previous time. since you will be getting a new router anyways for the apartment why are you trying with dd-wrt just buy a simple repeater and if you ever needed it as a router install ddwrt.
