Hi Guys,
As you know the internet in Lebanon sucks, and I need to have 512kbps internet at least at all times but I live with my family and they sometimes interrupt my bandwidth by using the internet for stupid stuff. So my plan is to somehow limit my router from uploading more than a total of 512kbps leaving my wired connection to it with the other 512 at all times. But I am not sure how/if this is possible. I currently have a TG582n router from ogero(actually I think it's from the sodetel days) but I am willing to buy a new dsl router if any of you suggest otherwise.
So has anyone done something similar? What router would you recommend for this task?

Get a TP Link(WR841ND) and adjust the Bandwidth control to 512kbps and let your family connect to this router and you can connect to the old one
DNA
get a crappy access point install dd-wrt or open-wrt and setup qos simple..

I really do not want to have 2 routers. (I already have plenty of routers but I don't want them all hooked) I have a mini connected by wire to the router and it has a wifi, I thought also about having the mini broadcast itnernet and somehow throttle the speed but apparently it is all complicated to do in windows...
