Hey guys, im really getting fed up with this these morons over at Alfa.
I have a Nexus 6 phone and have been using LTE for the past few months with no problems.
Yesterday my bundle needed to renew but I didnt have enough to recharge it, so unsubscribed on its own, which is fine. This morning I recharged my line so that I could renew my subscription, all is working but LTE is no longer there.
This isnt the first time I've dealt with Alfa's lack of knowledge on this matter. I called and asked them, they kept asking me the same stupid questions: 1) Is LTE enabled on your phone (even though I told them like 3 times that it was), 2) What device do you have? 3) Is LTE enabled on your network.
After i cut through the bullshit of their customer support, she said go to your APN settings and erase all the automatic settings for Alfa, and she told me the change everything (even though I never had to do this when my LTE WAS working), still no luck, restarted my phone, airplane mode etc. Still nothing.
I still dont understand why she made me change the settings. After a bit of research, i put back the settings to what they were and it still doesn't work.
Any thoughts? :(

LTE reception is very sketchy. there is nothing wrong with your phone or line. this depends on the exact area you are in. I have experienced this before myself. i doubt you will benefit from LTE with the data caps that we have.

Thanks for the quick reply haidcar!
However, I actually live in Hamra where LTE is always available. As i said, Ive been using it here for the past few months and the only difference between when it worked and now is that this time, I didnt have enough credit to renew my plan.
That's the only thing that changed from yesterday till today, which would cause me to assume that this is the issue and not the area.
Update: I just got off the phone with a more useful customer support, i explained the situation and he said "give it 24 hours for LTE to activate, if it doesnt work we will go through and try to see what the issue is."

Just a quick comment usually call centers followup with certain procedures. I remember they have two apn's both should work regardless of your LTE reception

I have alfa. I set up 3G on my phone a long time ago. Then I'm not sure what happened, it stopped working after I traveled and came back. So I set it up again. Then again at some point it stopped.
I just got fed up, stopped it and use wifi only.
So I can sympathise.
