Hi geeks, am new here in Lebanon, living here for the last 2 months, I just want to ask where to buy programming languages books ? I checked Virgin Megastore and Malik's and both got nothing, Maliks offer to order what I want from online and that will need 1 month !!, Virgin Megastore inform me that they don't sale such books because its updated so fast and not so much requested, so any one know some secret place here !! :D, any advice ? Also can I order books from Amazon or eBay and shall I use my address or go with the aramex Shop and Ship service ?
Thanks for ur help

I think you can order books directly from Amazon, check their shipping terms.

so this mean there is no bookshops in lebanon that got such categories ?

you should also check antoine bookstore, or the much easier try to find the books online "for free".
you can also check universities "or their surrounding copy centers" for a book you know they teach there.

I wouldn't bother if I were you. If you do find any, they would either be incredibly expensive or incredibly outdated(and expensive). That has been my experience when I was looking anyhow.
You can order books from Amazon. They would get delivered to your home. There are no customs on books so you just pay for the international shipping. It takes about 3 weeks to get to you. You can also go for the Aramex service(or other similar services), you'll get those sooner(around a week) but obviously a bit more expensive. Do the calculations and check which is cheaper for any order. For the Aramex service, be sure to count the free shipping option since it's a domestic order.

if you get a hold of a an ebook, you can simply print it. It will cost you around $10, just saying...

I used to order books from amazon through mail boxes etc. they were (are?) running a mail box proxy service and would even let you use their credit card but that was a while ago. I think aramex, and probably others also run similar schemes. Books will need a while (2 weeks and more) to get here though.
Good luck.
We should set up a website were you can request things from outside lebanon from people who travel.
