Greetings all,
Recently a friend of mine was asking me if I had a screen that I could sell to him, and I remembered I had an old CRT screen that I barely used and was covered by a bag since many years(10 if I'm correct) so I thought.. why not try that and give/sell it to him!
So I found it, took it out, and to my surprise it was still working perfectly, it's an LG studioworks 710E(pic related

Trying out the settings, the screen works to set on resolutions higher than it's native resolution, but if you try going above 1152 vertical pixels the monitor will give you a "out of frequency" message in which u have to revert back to the previous setting
I was thinking to cancel the sale since I thought "I could use this to watch full HD movies.. or even better!", but then I noticed something, at those higher resolutions the words on screen aren't so sharp..they feel more squeezed together so I concluded that this screen isn't designed to be at those high resolutions
can someone explain why this 10 year old screen gives me the option to set the resolution that high?
Thank you.
