So my phone just died and I want to get a new one, I'm stuck between the LG G3 and the HTC One M8, I've had a good experience with phones from both brands, so I have a hard time choosing between the two, so I was hoping you could help me choose which one to get.

P.S: I cannot wait more than two days to get a new phone so please don't tell me to wait till the new phones roll out
I'm an Apple fan but I've used both LG G3 and HTC One (M8). The HTC is the smoothest android phone I've ever used, maybe as smooth as iOS. Everything works as it should just like on the iPhone. It's the best android experience out there(next to the nexus). LG G3 is good and has lots of features but you can experience lags and hiccups from time to time because of the QHD screen.
man ... i'm speaking as a proud previous owner of SGS1 SGS2 SGN2 SGN3 SGS4 SGS5 G2 G3 M8 and finally a current owner of Z3

the greatest phone i once had is the htc M8 no doubt about it ... the premium finishing and the high quality materials used + the synergy between the hardware, software and the overall look of the phone is phenomenon ! its arguably THE BEST PHONE EVER MADE !!!!
mark my words ... YOU WILL NOT REGRET BUYING THE M8 ! the only addition i wish they do it is the finger print reader and the waterproofing ... and then it will truly be THE best phone ever
Die_Kapitan it all comes down to what you exactly want in a smartphone!

I, for myself would get the G3!
I like the design language, the high screen/body ratio, the back buttons and the features! LG skin is really nice on the G3 (oppositely to what it was on the g2).

As A.I. and Houssam are saying, most reviewers and real people agree that HTC one M8 is the best android phone to date! The smoothness and overall experience matches iOS! It's the iPhone of the android world!

If you want such a thing and care for audio output it's no brainer! It works great and everything is smooth!

If on the other hand, you like "some" features (not Samsung like bloatware) and you like bigger screens in smaller bodies, you should get the g3! But expect some little issues here and there!
The M8 is the best in all matters (specially Audio as the best mp3 player/phone out there) but not the camera.
It has the duo camera thingy for focus effects but the 4up (mp) is limited, so if you don't care that much for the camera, for all the rest the M8 is the king of Android, even apple copied the design for its iphone 6 ;)
about the camera thing: just for the record ... 4 mp was more than enough for me and now with my z3 i can barely take similar to my M8 especially in dark situations
The 4MP cam is awesome on the Ones. Megapixels don't necessarily mean good pictures. My Xperia Z has a 12MP camera and the M7 4MP can take much much better pictures.
So I ended up getting an LG Optimus G, should last me till the new phones roll out.

I can see you took the passionate opinions above very seriously.

Yeah and he even took his OP very seriously when he said it's "between LG G3 and the HTC One M8"!
What's funnier is that he got the first generation Optimus G not even the G2 which is in my opinion the best smartphone in terms of "you get what you're paying for"!

I actually got the G from a friend, you cannot beat free in terms of bang for buck. And I carefully studied my options, I'd rather wait a month or two and get a phone with a new 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 then get one with a 32-bit Snapdragon 801, I don't change my phone very often, so when buying a phone, I like to get a new flagship as it lasts 2-3 years while still getting software updates.
