I am looking to buy the CD key to windows 7-8 ultimate, since i upgraded to a new PC i formatted and installed a genuine windows 8 enterprise that i can't upgrade to windows 8.1 "yes i tried".
With all the talk that windows 10 will be a free upgrade for windows 7 and 8 i'm naturally looking for the ultimate version. So my question here:
1) Anyone got an old CD key they are willing to sell (maybe from an old laptop that ran windows 7-8 ultimate then the laptop was destroyed/not working anymore) ?
2) Will this "old" cd-key work if i install windows through legitimate ways?

KMS Client , Volume MAK , OEM SLP ,COA SLP and OEM System Builder product keys are not transferable
retail is only transferable (so long as the number of computers licensed does not exceed the licensing limit. In most cases, the limit is one )
Most laptops OS are OEM therefore they will not work in your case
you need to buy a retail version ( boxed copy if you want )

I can get you a Windows 7 Pro 32Bit disk with a system builder's OEM official licence for $90 if you want. The disk is 32bit, but you can use a 64-bit disk. I can provide you with an official MSDN ISO burnt onto a DVD if you want.

@stygmata .. thx a lot for the explanation although i knew these terms through cracks and pirated copies :P but never really understood the full concept, now it is much better.
@Avo i will wait then for windows 10 and then see how much the upgrade will cost. much easier than paying twice :)

As far as I know, the upgrade will be free for 1 year for Windows 7/8/8.1 users.

Interesting thought : would a cracked windows 7 upgrade?

I was curious about that too. I have a client I'm building a rig for tomorrow who agreed to try it out when it gets released. I'm gonna be using Windows Loader. Which runs Windows fine as a genuine version most of the time. I guess we have to wait and see how Microsoft will address the way of upgrading.
