geekevo wroteThe thing is if they release it on dvd no one would watch it in the cinema and they will not make enough money to cover their budget.
I think it's more a problem with the movie industry, they are a bit paranoid. Last time they didn't want to let me enter the movies because I was carrying a camera in a bag. They said they would get in big trouble if I decided to film. They finally let me in because they figured the movie was 3d and I would not be able to record it even if I wanted to. I, of course, did not care about recording the stupid movie, I just wanted to carry my new camera with me.
This was in Lebanon, but I would not be surprised if such things happened in other countries, except that usually in other countries they will not give you a hard time for something you are carrying in your bag, but they will find other ways to stop people from copying.
I just thought if you would contact them personally maybe they will appreciate your interest in their movie and do something but I guess they are just afraid. Maybe they will get in trouble if they release a copy to you, it's likely they have agreements with someone to distribute the DVD and have no right to distribute the movie themselves? Or they're just not being friendly, anyway at least you tried :)
PS: Your last option would be that someone is willing to take the risk to film the movie from inside the cinema and potentially get in trouble (hey, for 100 000LL ,maybe ;) ) or just wait for them to release the DVD of course.
