Hello!
I only have one fan in my Thermaltake MS-I case (the one that was included), I want to add a 2nd one to cool down the internal system.
Saw several models under 20$ from Thermaltake and Coolmaster on PCandParts as well as Microcityweb but I have no idea which one is the most silent??
Any help?
The Cooler Master SickleFlows are the best fans you can buy in Lebanon period. They're silent and provide a decent amount of air pressure. However, you can not use these fans in a horizontal (flat) position inside your case, due to how the barrings are made that are inside the fan. In such a case, I usually use the stock fans which come with the case itself. I never use horizontally positioned fans, because if Io mount it in the bottom, unnecessary dust will get sucked it, and I don't install/replace top fans because heat naturally goes up anyway.

I often just do a simple front intake and back exhaust. At rare times, when I have a crammed case with powerful hardware, I'll also mount a fan on the side.

Here are 2 videos:
About fan barrings
About airflow
It should be an intake. But keep in mind that side fans will have a loud whistle noise when the fan is actually moving air.

As for the CPU cooler, if you replace the fan, and plug it to a CPU header, it will always run at full speed, because the CPU fan will be a PWM fan, while the aftermarket one wouldn't. I don't think Lebanon has any aftermarket PWM fans to buy.

What I've done with my setup is, I've connected the stock fan as an exhaust for the cooler, and used a CM fan as an intake (push-pull setup) The stock fan is still connected to the CPU header, however I've forced it to always run at minimal speeds. I have the aftermarket CM fan connected to a regular header, and I just let it do its thing.
I wish we had Noctuas in Lebanon, or at least Phanteks or Scythe.
Do Scythe fans still exist? I thought their factory got shut down. Or was that just the US factory?
You should have ordered a couple of fans with your GTX 970 from amazon, they are lightweight and wouldnt make much difference in the amount you paid for DHL, back to the topic, Cooler Master SickleFlow and JetFlow are great fans both fairly silent, I have both models in my case, I also have the Corsair SP120, AF120 and AF140, all those corsair fans are effective and quiet at a certain level, I have about 8 fans in my case (excluding the cpu cooler fans).
I would personally choose the corsair over the cooler master they simply look better.
Aly is right, why not ship some Noctuas with your shipment? I'm sure they wouldn't effect much (if anything) in shipment cost
I didn't know Pcandparts ones are not so good, it's not that I am taking a GPU, it's a case fan
Geez!
What a beauiful country we have.
I got an answer from PcandParts and Microcity that they don't have any 12cm fan left!!!
If something as basic and simple than a fan and they don't have it, and they complain after that they are not selling so good
It's in Ghazir bro, if the traffic today is like yesterday it will take me 3 hours from Beirut and back ;)
I doubt they will deliver something under 100$ to Beirut, btw they are 1.5x more expensive than pcandparts.
I want 2 X 2GB 1333 RAM too but can't find any known shop that sell them anymore :(
I think they deliver via Aramex like pcandparts does you should call and ask. as for the price.. all prices on their website are VAT included and not VAT excluded like on pcandparts.

iirc Bitfenix spectre pro fans are quite nice, don't remember if they are PWM but they do have nice acoustics. The move a whole lot of air too, not really optimized for pressure demanding tasks. If you just want it for your side panel I guess it has enough clearance to work. And they do look quite good.

@vegetaleb any luck finding fans for your case? Im looking for fans too and pcandparts is still out of stock.
Can you wait?

i can wait, are you getting some? Possibly with red led?
I wanted the additional fan case because the GX 970 mini by gigabyte was throwing its heat inside the case making the CPU fan work double and become noisy, but since I switched to MSI Gaming 970 the heat is thrown outside :)
if you want i can sell you my Thermaltake case armor A90 (including 2x120mm "one of them has blue LED" + 1x200mm top fan "blue LED") all for 45$ :D
