It's a true loss for torrent users all around the world !
It will be up again like every other time it has supposedly been shutdown.
Yep they will open in another country, but anyway as mentioned, their are lot of clones from where you can find torrents, the only thing is that Piratebay was the most accurate in terms of live seeds
thepiratebay.cr is still up ... they are based in Costa Rica now ... the real pirates of the Caribbean
I haven't even used TPB in a while. There are better torrent websites out there.

thepiratebay.cr has always been a proxy for the real TPB. They don't host any content. They are now pulling the last desperate attempts to cash in as much money as they can from all the TPB visitors by spreading false rumors all over the web that TPB is back in Costa Rica. You can tell from their ads, and their torrents being scraped from piratebaytorrents.info. They don't host anything, they are purely devoted for ads and making money.

As far as I remember, real TPB was hosted on rrbone and its backend hosted in Portlane/Sweden. The backend was raided and the site and the proxies redirecting to it stopped functioning. Though, not long time ago, TPB stated that their website is raid-proof and have VMs all over the world. So far this has been incorrect and whether all the data is lost remains unknown.

I downloaded more than 3 GB from thepiratebay.ee since yesterday . All good
Kickass is a very good torrent place but its seeds number is not accurate, it can say 50 while it's 5 so you get slow downloads

I'm not saying it doesn't work, I'm saying they are not the real TPB. They just have the same name and design.
Not the first time TPB's been taken down and it won't be the last, but either ways they'll come back to life sooner or later!
