Sadly, my MacBook Pro retina screen got screwed, I'm not sure why but here's what happened:
I was cleaning my macbook with some alcohol (95% ethanol), as I usually do, I spray a bit on the screen and clean it around. A bit later, while I was working, I noticed that there's some flickering going on (barely noticeable), so I thought of installing the update and restarting. After the reboot, the flickering got a lot worse, but you can still work. I was completely shocked, it wasn't my first time cleaning my Mac. Anyway, I went ahead and turned it off till the next day hoping that the problem gets fixed. I woke up and turned it on, the flickering disappeared and I started using it for like 5 minutes without any flickering, I went for like 30 minutes while the macbook is turned on, and once I came back the flickering and color changing on the screen was enormous, it's like the screen is going to blow. I directly restarted, and bam the screen almost died, you'll see random vertical shit changes color based on the background colors, you can.t see the cursor unless in the top status bar, which is showing up normally,
To debug the problem, I hooked the Mac with an external display, and it worked fine. It seems the screen is dead....
I asked iStyle and the guy there said it'll cost around 850$ to fix it, which is insane!! I can buy one from abroad and fix it myself but I can't guarantee if it's good quality. It'll cost around 350-400$.
Anyone had a similar issue before and how did you fix it?
Any reliable company provides macbook repairs? I heard of Actyv at Hazmieh.
Thanks.
