Hello Lebgeekers!
Hope you're all doing well!
I am currently a freshman student and I still don't have a prospective major.
I am interested in business information and decision systems but I've been advised by many people to stick to the classics such as finance, accounting, marketing.... Others tell me to go with computer science but I am not really into programming and coding. Also, I have passion for nutrition and food sciences, and yet I hear that I cannot find jobs in Lebanon with a food science degree. And I am also seeing the struggle of business graduates finding jobs in our country.
So I am really confused and puzzled. Don't know what to choose. Any advises, suggestions or maybe experiences are highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Go with the major that you can excel with, a major that you enjoy learning and studying.
Actually whatever you graduate in, you will face that Lebanese problem of looking for a job for 0.5-1 year.
As a first step, lets split the problem, decide on a broad career path, do you want a Nutrition/Physical Education path or a business/finance/IT related path.
If you don't like coding , don't major in computer science as it is 95% coding or coding related.
If you want a specialty between business and IT, you can major in something like Managing Information System, you will be working with business solutions( ERP,CRM...).
Finally, if u want to major in nutrition, you can become a nutritionist with a physical education specialty (gym related) for example and work at a gym/store then open your private institute.
Whatever you choose, have this thought in mind : " Will I be able to work this job 8 hours/day for 40 straight years and enjoy doing it without feeling like its a burden you have to do every morning"
Hope this helps and good luck.
