Why do you want a slimmed downed version ? they all come in approximately 950 mbAvoK95 wroteI didn't have this problem on SlimKAT. I like Sony ROMs, but I can't seem to find a slimmed downed version.aliessayli2 wroteI tried many ROMs , they all have the sound bug where the speaker can make an awful buzz sound for 1 second every now and then when playing an audio (even with earphones).AvoK95 wrote I also have the Z, it's still a beast, it also have a great community for custom ROMs and stuff, and good ol' Sony updated the sources recently meaning awesome bugless ROMs here we come!
The Sony ROMs are simply awesome.
Should I buy a new android phone or wait?
I'm a minimalist, when it comes to phone software. And I need battery life, and all the bloatware are always running in the background. Some even run even if I have disabled them. Plus I like AOSP over anything. I find such ROMs to work best for me anyway.aliessayli2 wroteWhy do you want a slimmed downed version ? they all come in approximately 950 mbAvoK95 wroteI didn't have this problem on SlimKAT. While we're on the topic of ROMs, I've always been hesitant to get into it because if I do, I'd want to do it to get away from Google. That means I'll install Android without any Google apps or services. But is Android usable in this form? And how hard is it to get apps? I know there are apk's out there, but not every apk is available on the intertubes. Any experiences?
If i wanted to get an android phone, i would get nexus6, LG g3.
There are micro and pico (49mb) GAPPS package which you flash and only gives you the Play Store. However, you can always use 1Mobile Market App which is a Google Play Store knockoff. It has most apps. But high risk of Malware.tt400 wroteWhile we're on the topic of ROMs, I've always been hesitant to get into it because if I do, I'd want to do it to get away from Google. You can get the GAPPS from CM website
Well the Micro and Pico packages I've mentioned are from PA. But if CM offers slimmed down GAPPS as well,it would be better

Hey forum.
Just a question related to this thread.
I have a note 2 now.
Is it worth buying a Sony Xperia Z3?
The only things that attracted me about this phone, is because it is waterproof, also 4k video capture.
And of course because it's Android. I hate ios.
So I was considering maybe getting one, and giving the note 2 to my little brother.
Is it worth it?
Or maybe get the note 4?
Thanks

I have always owned Samsung, HTC and LG smartphones.
I have never cared about sony...
Xperia Z3 is the first and only Sony phone that made me go WOWWW!
It's a definite phone on my checklist although until my next phone switch, I might get another...
I highly recommend it...

It's a compact phone, feels solid, one piece!
Just like to clarify that it's not waterproof. It's water friendly, there is a difference. If the tabs aren't closed properly it can lead to water damage and it's not covered by warranty. And yes Z3 is an awesome phone, but Z2 is just as well with not many disadvantages over the Z2 while costing a few hundred dollars less. Also consider the M8, epic metal construction, amazing software. They're equally well, just get what you like it's not always about specs. I myself have a Z and have no intention of upgrading because I chose it over my more expensive note 2
They just announced that a global version of the Motorola Droid Turbo exclusive to Verizon will be announced in Brazil on the 5th November. Let's hope Class, as it is the only Motorola provider, will bring it to Lebanon along with the Nexus 6 because this is currently the highest specced phone with its monstrous battery life. Look it up.
I would wait for the Htc M9 to be release sometime in Q1 2015
HTC flagships use to be released between April and May in Lebanon, it's true the M8 was released end March this year but it took 45 days to bring it here, dunno why Amhaz was so late to bring it
