and this is my speed downloading ubuntu

it seems the limitation is on http only
it is not FUP, it is a crappy connection.., They are setting a max speed per thread..

Before upgrade my connection never dropped below 1.9mbps on my 2mbps I dunno about now though will know tomorrow when my account switches to limited from unlimited.
Wollyka is right. Download on firefox and chrome is slow but it is fast on internet download manager. i guess that makes sense.

Like I said before, browser downloading is a thing of the past for me, I have not used it since 1999
yeah but it is affecting downloading apps on my phone. takes forever!

I know how you feel. I got a Nexus 5 running a custom ROM and ever since they updated the Google Play Services, Themes download twice before installing, add to that the fluctuated connection takes forever and a day x)
I also have a Nexus 5 :)
I called IDM support to complain, after the support guy directly blamed a local problem from my end, and after a long discussion, he admitted that there is congestion , that;s why the speed is low!

Now that scares me a little. I hope for their sake that my connection doesn't go lower than 1.5mbps else they gonna hear from my lawyer.

Anyway, Nexus 5 you too? I know it ain't the place to ask but I sure hope you ain't on Stock.
Now i am on stock (rooted) and heavily modified using xposed, custom recovery and a custom kernel. I will try Android L later.
I was on CM, slimkat, OmniROM,AOKP and Paranoid. I like switching

Running Mahdi ROM for which I run the download server and am a Moderator of their G+ community. I did not need to switch to any ROM since using Mahdi for 9 months now simply coz it has all best features from all ROMs combined. All that while remaining smooth n lightning fast.

Anyway good to hear that there are some Nexus owners here that do understand the whole reason behind Android. Not just run stock n just own a Nexus to say they do.

Let's not get carried away here n drag this thread where it don't belong. Sorry. We can talk more on Skype if you want.

Well here's why I don't trust speedtest.net, it still says 1.9mbs except in reality I can't even post anything on my site due to the messed up FUP. I think that service bypasses FUP and only shows what plan you are one. Seriously.
True, but my http downloads are back to normal. The speeds on my phone (Google play) are as they should be (300 Kb/s) , not the disastrous 20 KB/s i was getting.
There was an awful congestion like the tech support admitted, and speedtest.net at least showed it.
4 is too high. they must be giving you more than 4096 on your modem stats.
yes it is 4797Kbps down exactly and 894 Kbps up
Have no idea, it was 1095 up and 4096 down before, then 1095 up and 4396 down and now this!
Edit: before i mean 2 weeks ago
You must be connected to a large CO. I can't get more than 4095/509.
