Hi
I got a new ADSL model/router Linksys X1000 (with latest firmware) to replace my aging speedtouch510v6.
I used the guide posted here for DSL connectivity and settings. The modem sync and the DSL connection is up but i cannot log in using PPOE to IDM.
From the system logs i get this:
Jan 1 00:39:55 pppd: PPP: Start to connect ...
Jan 1 00:39:00 pppd: PPP: Start to connect ...
Jan 1 00:39:00 pppd: PPP: pppd 2.4.1 started by admin, uid 0
Jan 1 00:38:44 pppd: PPP: Start to connect ...
Jan 1 00:37:49 pppd: PPP: Start to connect ...
Jan 1 00:36:55 pppd: PPP: Start to connect ...

But it seems i cannot log in.
The username and password are right (i can log just fine with my speedtouch)

Any ideas?
Thanks
post your setup and also if annex A or B ( model number + EU is annex A , model number + DE is annex B )
Model: X1000 Annex A

I tried changing the DSL modulation but it didn't affect
Hi
Thanks tried with VC, sane issue.
The modem connects, the dsl is up but I cannot log in to the ISP so no Internet!
obviously it isn't something related to Dsl and indeed it is llc not vc which is an old standard.

try setting Vpi to 8
I think setting the VPI to 8 did the trick. Thanks all

Sorry for bumping this but I wanna ask if you recommend buying this router , I am sick of cheap tp links and Dlinks that always have disconnects and lags

I have a tplink TL-WR841N flashed with DD-WRT and it has a great performance and doesn't diconnect or lag at all
it does that with the stock firmware but if you update it with the official update or DD-WRT it will work great

Sorry for the late reply
I am using the X1000 as a modem only, since it is a moderate router in my opinion. My main router is an Asus Ac68 (which is much more powerful) so i cannot comment on its router or wifi capabilities.
As a modem, the X1000 is ok, the problem is with its Linksys firmware, it is not very intuitive and lack advanced "tools". But for the average user, it is good and does its jobs ( a stable connection).
