  • Steam client failing to connect to Steam server

I'm on Windows 7 and my ISP is Terranet. Steam used to work wonderfully before and now login doesn't work and says that the client is having trouble connecting to Steam servers. I can login on the website with no problem, it's just that the client is being shitty. I tried everything on this page and nothing worked. I used PFPortCheck to see if the required Steam ports are open and the program says that the ports are not open or not reachable, despite the fact that I configured the port forwarding of my router accordingly.

Could this be a problem on Terranet's end? Has anyone else here had this problem before?
That wasn't very helpful. My Terranet connection is working fine for everything else and I'm specifically posting this in the gaming section because I want to know if anyone else is having this specific problem with Steam right now, or if it's just on my end.
I knew I wasn't the only one having this problem!

I have been having this problem for the last couple of weeks. See my post here: http://lebgeeks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=15215

I called Terranet and it is from their side. They began talking crap about not able to open the needed game ports. I told them I am gladly willing to help you figure out those ports; but I guess they are too lazy or too stupid to solve the issue.

So yeah, confirmed problem from Terranet's side. Their network team is still trying to solve the problem (it has been 3 weeks).
Weird that it only started happening to me like 3 days ago while it's been 3 weeks for you. I guess they must've made it worse, but it probably also means that they're at least trying to do something about it. Let's see what happens tomorrow.
Same here with IDM, however the only workaround i found is to keep trying and after the 7th subsequent time, it worked ( directly after each other keep trying)! Give it a shot.
Steam client is finally back for me. Any updates MrClass?
It's back online, eWizzard.

Weird disconnections on Cyberia though, maybe they're setting the fiber?! :D

Wishful thinking. That happens to me when I have bad Internet cuts or very slow speeds.

So... Is anyone else having a problem with Origin now? For the past 3 days I haven't been able to login to either the client or the store... and it had to happen during a massive sale.
I have terranet and I am able to login to Origin via Google Chrome. Give terranet a call, tell them you can't login to Origin.
