reppinhighz Hello everyone, I get my internet through a local provider (The regular network wire extended across several buildings to reach me) My TPLink is about 4-5 years old. Its slower than before, the latency is a major problem and as far as ive noticed its due to the router. With that i mean like the local latency. Not sure if thats a thing. The range sucks. Maybe im just imagining the router turning bad but i think its time to change it. I need a good recommendation for a router. Potentially something available locally for example at pcandparts. the router has about 6 devices connected to it. 2 laptops, ipad, 3 phones. Relatively light usage. I would like to remote connect to a laptop or desktop from other devices using softwares such as splashtop. Work purposes. Also eventually i would like to at least take closer steps to streaming games through gamestream or steam's in home streaming. I understand there are certified routers for such technology but at least ill be close and maybe could get it to work. Recently im gaming online alot especially BF4. Around 1-2 hours a night. Thanks for your help. Also if you find that my problem is not the router, let me know but i still need a recommendation. I usually get decent pings to Europe around 55-70 and my latest download test hit 4mb ps: i dont have a specific budget but i would prefer to stay under the $70 area.
HarbDevLeb Late response maybe , but I really recommend getting a Netgear router I have the Netgear N750 WNDR4000 dual band router (450 Mbps + 300 Mbps) , it has native online gaming support Plus having built in DLNA so you can stream your stuff to any device in the network Signal is generally enough but I bought a Netgear repeater to make the wifi accessible everywhere in the house There is also the N600 which has all the same functionality options , but two 300 Mbps rather than 450 + 300 . This is based on my experience
HarbDevLeb I got it from Dubai when I was there I don't really know any specific place in lebanon , but M2 Stores might have some decent routers This is their website
