  • Extender for a Thomson Router TG585V7 not working

Good day,
I brought a tp-link extender tl-wa830re in order to extend the wireless connection at my place. My ADSL router is the Thomson router, the TG585V7. I followed the simple steps that can configure the extender but unfortunately, it's not working. Each time i configure the extender, the connection freezes. I've check if the WDS is enabled on my Thomson router and it gave me positive.
Any idea how can I fix the issue ?

Thank you.
Not all extenders and AP's are compatible. Especially because each vendor implement WDS differently.
You might need or dual radio solution, or to purchase at least same chipset+vendor AP and extend this AP.
In some cases decent 802.11n AP will increase coverage much better than extender.
With a router from tp-link and a Thomson router you can setup a bridge connection it's easy.
You only need the connection cable on one router(host), the other if bridged could only be branched to the electricity.

range extenders do not use any sort of WDS and the range extender appears as a regular client to the router, so its not right that they should be compatible because of WDS implementation

as a side note the problem is because of the 830re this range extender is the shitiest in the market i have one installed at my house and i can tell you its causing me all sorts of problems and it has incompatibility issues with lots of routers
