Hello everyone,

Sorry for making yet another one of those threads

I have to buy a new computer, mine is going kinda crazy.
The thing is, I really love this computer, as it worked for so long (since 2007), and it run everything so smoothly (it's a Dell) and I've been using it extensively all the time. I used to work on it, but now it's mostly a media center and a gaming station.

So my fear is that no computer that I'll buy will hold as long as this one did. I'm thinking of buying from pcandparts.com. What do you think of them ? Are they reliable ? Are their computers worth it ? Do they stand the test of time ?

I've seen an offer on their website, and with a few modifications, this is what I'm thinking of getting :

Intel i7-3770 3.4GHz Quad Core System
(8MB Cache- Quad Core) Intel Power PCIII
Cooler Master SCOUT 2 Black SGC-2100-KWN2 Mid Tower ATX w/ Window+ Cooler Master RS-725-PCAR Extreme 2 725 725W PSU
Intel Core i7-3770 3.4GHz 8MB Quad Core LGA-1155 Original Boxed
MSI Z77A-G43 GAMING Z77 (DDR3) (LGA1155)
Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 2.5" 60GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SV300S37A/60G+ Seagate 1TB ST1000DM003 7200RPM SATA III 64MB Hard Drive
Kingston HyperX Black 8GB 1600MHz 240-Pin DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model Black KHX16C10B1B/8
LG GH24NS95-24X DVDRW - Dual Layer SATA
Sound Built-in
MSI GeForce N670 PE 2GD5/OC GTX 670 2GB DDR5 OC Power / Twin Frozr w/HDMI
I already have a screen (a TV screen) so no need for that.

The price for this should be around 1300 USD (with taxes). I cannot exceed this amount, this is really the maximum I can pay for a computer.

Remember, it's mostly gonna be for gaming, and a media center

So what do you think ? Is there anything I should change in that configuration ?

Thanks for your help !
Don't buy a pre-configured system from PCandParts as they are unbalanced.

Get this: (I'm not going to explain, simply search for explanations in other posts)
Intel Core i5 4570
Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3
2x Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB
1TB Seagate Drive
LG DVDRW
MSI GeForce N770 TF 2GD5/OC GTX770
Cooler Master SCOUT 2
XFX 550W PSU ( I think CompuWorld still has the 750W, get that if you could)
Samsung 840 250GB SSD

Total price: $1340TTC

PM me before you order, I could make some calls and see if I can offer you cheaper or equivalent prices :)
@Chassis : the link you posted is not working

@AvoK This looks like a good rig, only I can't find the processor you're mentioning on pcandparts

Would one of these work ?
Haswell 3.00 GHz - i5-4430 6M/LGA1150 $196.00
Haswell 3.40 GHz - i7-4770 8M/LGA1150 $314.00

I'll check it out. I'm gonna do some reviewing before I buy, because even with the Haswell i5, the price after tax and everything comes to 1573 USD, which is more than what I can pay, and more than the original one I posted which is 1400 USD, and also I'd have to wait until they stock the GTX 770, unless I get the rig you proposed with the 670 instead.

Thanks for your advice

I meant the 4430, my bad. The price I mentioned is tax included. and the 770 is faster than the 680. So yeah..
