I constantly flash ROMs on my phone, and be stupid because I never backup my SDCard, where my most important files are stored.
So, it got corrupted once and I tried to recover the files and was in absolute frustration, so I said screw it and reformatted the whole card.
Today this happened again, I tried to run CHKDSK from the properties of the partition and it demanded to get formatted. I eventually gave up again, then I remembered repairing some hard drive partitions in Windows XP recovery mode.
So what I did was, basically opened Command Prompt as admin, and wrote the following command: "chkdsk /X /F F:" where "F:" is the drive letter, and what to do you know...15 seconds later my card is running fine with all my files inside it, and untouched.
So here's putting in more simply:
- Open Command Prompt as administrator - By typing CMD in the start menu and right clicking it and selecting "Run as Administrator"
- Type "CHKDSK /X /F <drive letter>" - If your drive letter was "F:", you'd type "CHKDSK /X /F F:"
That's all!
Cheers everybody! :)
