Hey guys,

i am facing a problem with my ADSL connection, and the problem is due to noise.
i have tried different filters, cheap ones and expensive ones, it works for few weeks/months and then noise re-appears again, downgrading my connection from 4Mbps to 700Kbps.
note that when i remove my phone from the wall jack, everything is perfect.

Any idea where i can get decent filters?

Thank you
I use 2 filters, I have 2 phones and my modem connected, I took apart 1 filter and fitted a switch that has 2 phone ports on it, I connected 1 phone to that and another filter to the other port, and have 1 phone + my modem.

I don't think you'll find anything decent in this country :p
i want to clarify a common misunderstanding about adsl splitters or filters, the adsl splitter has only one role and that is to eliminate high frequency signals from the adsl modem from being heard from your phone, and if you look closely inside a splitter you will find that the modem is connected directly to the phone line without any kind of circuitry while the phone is connected to a high frequency filtering circuit, so the line is directly connected to the modem but filtered and connected to the phone, when you get low SNR or High attenuation or mysterious errors when you connect a phone this sometimes mean that the phone is either inducing noise or consuming high current which leads to a lower SNR or random errors at the modem side, so my advice will be to check with another phone that is known to be friendly with adsl connections and check your rates and stability again. filters 80% of the time has nothing to do with adsl connection but the 20% remaining are due to bad connections inside it that attenuates the signals or in the worst case bad circuitry which adds noise to the line.
How about trying to change your phone?
Or is there a way of putting the phone behind the filter or something?
When you say that when you remove the phone everything is perfect - it is a clue that something might be wrong with the phone.

@ironman: can you describe the phones/modem setup please
@avok: describe by a graph please :P it kinda confused me...
@longbit

i have two sockets at home,

Socket #1 -> Phone connected to a filter -> Wall jack
Socket #2 -> Modem connected directly to the wall

My setup before was that the phone and modem were connected to a splitter then to socket #1, and my setup was changed based on my provider's recommendations.
