  • Cheapest Windows 8 tablet in Lebanon

I usually have to take my laptop with me to university, so i thought about buying a windows 8 tablet, attach a keyboard to it, and start programming, more practical, and i could use it as a tablet too whenever i want.

All i need is a decent screen size and decent battery life, so what's the cheapest tablet i can find?
Surface RT is in $900s. I don't there is anything cheaper.
for $900 i could buy a new laptop :) i know many cheap android tablets, but you can't do programming on android.
Windows tablets are pretty overpriced.. However, you can get a Windows 8 Acer V5 touchscreen for 600 ish at pcandparts
yes i know, not a windows fan but i need it, ok I'll go there and ask them

All you need is a text editor and a compiler, both of which are readily available. You can even find some IDEs to run on it.
Could you compile java, C# and C++ on android?
I have worked with an Android development IDE on my note before, and i'm very sure that there's other IDEs out there for many other programming applications.

Anyways, why dont you buy a netbook preloaded with Windows 8 and one of the new revisions of the intel atom
I actually thought about buying a netbook, but i don't know quite a lot about them, i only used 1 in my entire life. Do you have some suggestions and how cheap can it be? i know you can get one for 200$ running android, Are windows netbooks that cheap? What specs do i have to expect?

I see no reason why you can't.
Maybe I'm wrong but i don't think there are compilers for android, I've seen a program (forgot its name) where you type C++ and it shows you the output, not actually compiling it on the device but more like ideone.com I only see the output, only the basic commands work, depends on an internet connection (which is usually crappy at the university) and you can't save the projects. So my question was: did anyone created a good compiler for android?

How about this one?
@samer i will definitely check it
yes my friend told me about them 2 days ago, any idea how much they cost here?
well i saw them when they first came out(about 3 month ago) they were expensive, about 800$. but now they should be cheaper.
not sure about the price i guess you should ask.
