  • Trustworthy Apple Macbook Pro Repairs?

So my wife's 13" Macbook Pro 2011 just suddenly turned off during a simple internet browsing session. She then turned it back on and after that famous apple startup sound it shutoff again and won't start anymore. It was at full battery with charger in place during this. Now with the charger in, the light doesn't work and the little battery indicator on the side also won't light up at all. I googled a bit and read to try to reset the SMC and PRAM but I can't do any of that as the computer won't start up at all. I tried 100 times :D

So, I think maybe the battery just completely died, or maybe it was the logic board, or perhaps something else even. I am very hesitant to take it to a repair shop as I don't think they know what they're doing nor do I trust them not to steal/swap parts. Any suggestions?

I'm comfortable opening the computer and fiddling. I always change RAM myself and have changed a few HDDs to install SDDs. I'm no pro but not complete amateur either.

Any very trustworthy stores or general advice how to troubleshoot the problem would be much appreciated!

i think that Teletrade and M2 are good with repairing Apple products, i don't think they would risk their name in the market and do such stuff (swapping parts...etc)
Good luck
Can you please advise me where Teletrade and M2 are located? Thanks

When a laptop decides not to turn on, it means it's time to replace it with a new one (Especially with Apple products) They're made that way.

Even if you do get it fixed, you will face problems in the future.
i don't want to sound harsh or anything but id like to mention that i went to an interview to m2/teletrade and they are not that great, sure they're better than others but they're not close to what we few on lebgeeks can do.
they can't even put together a balanced rig and they advertise like they are the bomb,i suggest if you are confident enough to do it yourself, btw M2 belongs to Teletrade
Uhm search the forums.
I had recommended someone but I forgot who they were - the folks at Freeway (sinn el fil). They had repaired my power cord and it was better than new.

Technomania?
I took it to a few shops around tripoli, described the problem and didn't actually give it to anyone to "fix". After a week of letting the battery fully drain out, I plugged the charger back in and VOILA it's working again. Very weird!
