Hello everybody,

I want to get an internet connection in Saudi Arabia, I live in Khobar if that matters.
I stumbled upon this offer:
http://saudi.souq.com/sa-ar/موبايلي-برود-باند-21-ميجا-انترنت-17-شهر-مفتوح-230600072/u/
It seems like a pretty sweet deal, but I feel like I'm missing something so if can someone please confirm if this is a good offer or do I have something to worry about?

Any other recommendations?
I don't know about any of the providers in KSA, but this is a great deal compared to the ones in the emirates (which should be quite similar), as long as they provide over 16 mb/s of stable connection. And if I'm not mistaken you don't have any quota limits ?
If you calculate the price per month it's about 55 sar per month which is really nothing for 21 mb/s. It's good enough to be compared to isps in Europe I think. And a stable 20mb/s connection will be more than enough in the 17 months to come. And hopefully there are no big installation fees.

Edit: But why is this on souq.com? you should check their main website and check if such deals are possible.
The thing is I didnt find this on their site, apperently it works on 3g and they are fully on board for 4g and maybe this is some kind of left over deal or clearance. I am actualy happy if this has 5mb/s fot that price, so I guess ill go for it.
This is a good offer but bear in mind that Mobily has a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of around 1GB/day.
When I was in Saudi Arabia, I subscribed to the STC 3G Multi-Sim plan. It is a postpaid plan where you will get 3 sim cards with unlimited internet on the 3 Sim cards for exactly 350 SAR/month. I used one sim cards and I gave 2 sim cards for my friends and each one of us ended up paying around 117 SAR/month. STC does not have any FUP and you will get the modem speed (if you have a modem of 7Mbps you will get that speed).
As far as i remember, after doing bandwidth tests and running AT+CGEQREQ , i found out that STC 3G are throttled to 768Kbit everywhere.
3G also often can be down, at night, and slower at peak time.
Other operators was much better, but nothing even close to 7Mbps, i was around 6 month ago there.
I bought my own huawei b683 and I can assure you that I was having speeds close to 7 Mbps and sometimes up to 10 Mbps out of the 21 Mbps max of this modem. Also, the offer of mobily is actually a 3g offer.
why dont you go for a land connection, I saw some nice deals which involved internet+tv+phone from STC about a year ago .
this one is much cheaper option I guess that's why I am opting for it.
Ghaleb what is the average speed you got?
In Jeddah, using the b683 with a small 8dbi antenna,on average I got 5-6 Mbps during peak time and above 7 at other times. I have lots of friends who got much higher speeds with the recent 4G offers (in riyadh and jeddah)
But when checking their site all the 4g routers seems to be limited to 4Mbs or even 2, am I missing something here?

I always advise you not to buy a modem directly from the company. Buy one that meets your needs from Jarir or Extra and it will be unlocked in case you wanted to switch to another carrier later on.
