  • Recommend a beach resort

Hi everyone. It's summer time so the usual get away place for most of us (I assume) is the beach. Given the number of beach resorts in Lebanon, it gets really confusing when you want to choose where to go. So I would appreciate it if you guys would recommend a place to go to. Please list your recommended place in the following format:

Resort name: Lazy-B
Location: Jiyyeh
Rating: 8/10
Entrance Fee: 40,000 L.L
Comments: Great place. Very calm (no loud music) and the people there are nice and respectful. Only problem is that you can never order anything there, it is outrageously expensive.
40,000 L.L for beach entrance, interesting. Its funny tho how you find the "order" to be outrageously expensive and not the entrance itself.

That's only because this has become the standard price for beach resorts entrance fee in Lebanon. A few years ago, that was 15,000 - 20,000 L.L.

Got any better alternatives that are cheaper?

<rant>Funny how an entrance fee to a beach resort doubled in a few years (along with almost every other commodity or service), while the salaries of most people have barely slightly increased during the same time period</rant>
Yea i was there yesterday.
it was a weekday so you pay 35,000 LL. I think students get a discount and pay 20,000 LL for weekdays.
I only go to the beach a few times in the summer so i don't mind the fee which is relatively high but standard for the country.
Lazy B is nice since there is no music and you don't feel like you are at a night club with people drinking and dancing everywhere. The mellow atmosphere is great and people are usually minding their own business and you don't have people starring at you every time you're walking by.
The food is crappy. I ordered 2 sandwiches for me and my fiance and it was 14,500 LL each. It's a burger style sandwich in thick bread. Pepsi cost 5,000 LL and 6,000 LL for a big bottle of water. Ridiculously expensive. A total of 40,000 LL and i would rate the sandwich at 3.5/10. I eat a lot of fast food and i have seen sandwiches that cost 3,000 LL that are better. They had burgers with fries and coleslaw last year which seemed slightly more reasonable as i am old fashioned when it comes to fast food but this year when i asked they said that a certain place caters that is basically separate from the resort. I told the person that this is horrible food and too exotic for normal people. He laughed then i told him i'm serious and i really wish they had a burger.
At first i thought you could not bring in anything to eat with you but then i realized, no one is searching your stuff and i saw some people eating home made sandwiches which is what i am planning on doing next time i am there.
My bad, last time i went to the beach it was like 2 years ago, it was around 20,000 L.L
The Hell!
If you want a nice and clean beach head to the area of Batroun there are some free places and some paid, but none are more than 12000 L.L. or so for the entrance. Check Sawary, they have a very clean beach and very few people usually.

(Yes it is that clean!)

Also after Batroun is a town called "El Hire" lots of good reviews about their beaches too, this is one example

All of those places are much cheaper, less crowded and much more clean.
There are still "FREE" beaches in Lebanon? And they look THAT good?! Very interesting... Would love to give it a shot!

Last time I went to Batroun was like a month ago. I went to Pierre & Friends for lunch. We ended up with a 250,000 L.L bill - something that usually costs my mum around 30,000 to prepare.

The ones I linked to are not free but cheap in comparison to other places, I mean not beyond 20,000 L.L. (that was last year). Yes there are some free places around there but more rock less sand. Some more photos of El Herr
Try to go to a beach resort where they would not do racist discrimination at the door. If you can!
I would go to "Pierre and friends". It's not really a resort, but it has a nice beach with free access (so no discrimination possible, normally...), and a cool bar and restaurant next to it.

@Ayman, when I go there I would usually only order a couple of beers, yes even the beers have gotten very expensive, as a lot of things across the country, and it sucks, but it's still the best option for me.
You guys are aware that there's a wonderful public beach reserve in Tyre (Sour)? It's clean, water is the clearest blue, it's a Natural Reserve so it's actively protected, and access is free.

Access to the beach should be free for everyone all the time. Maintenance and cleaning of the beaches should be financed through taxes, not privatization. It's like access to the road or the forest. Last year I was still able to find access to a few public (free) spots, but nothing comparable to what I discovered in Sour.

I've heard that from many people so far. They all confirm that the public beach in Tyre is one of the best you can find in Lebanon. The problem is that it's way too far from Beirut (where I live). If I ever go to my village this summer, I will definitely give it a shot. It's about 20 - 30 min away.
Saint Balech ! even 12 000 is too much
