Hello fellow geeks,

I changed the screen on an iphone4s, all went good, put it back together turn it on and its SIM status is "searching..." whether i have the SIM in or not:
This isn't my first Iphone I'm working on but it is the first time this problem occurs.
To save you time this is what i already did:

-Tried multiple SIMs from different carriers and ones that work on other phone (logically)
-Reset Network settings
-Reset All Settings to factory
-Restore and update software to 6.1.3
-Verified connectors on the board
-Took the phone apart again, cleaned and verified all connections

All in vain Kindly advise.

I also Failed to Mention The phone while "searching..." (or airplane mode off) gets flaming hot around the SIM area
The phones gets full signal from time to time.
The battery gets drained super fast (then again might be the fact that the phone is searching)
Seems like there's something wrong with your antenna

Shorting is NEVER a good idea.

Make sure you have installed the antenna wires correctly, also, double check your ribbon cables (On the bottom pin side as well)

I haven't really taken apart an iPhone, but you could check iFixit.com for some great tutorials.
4 days later
i agree i think its antenna wires problem
double check again and it should work
How old is your sim card? you might need to update it.
its nt about the simcard, my sim from 2004 and its working on my iphone
