Post here your system spec, i5 3570K / i7 3770K overclocks, voltages, temperatures, if you have delidded your CPU, any further suggestions for OCing. Benchmarks, stress tests, etc... are a must!

Let's help out new users who are just getting used to overclocking and learn from each other.

i7-3770k OC Guide
Too many variables for a guide to be universal. Varies with CPU, motherboard, PSU, and cooling. This is a good starting point though.
There is a thing I don't really understand. the relation between CPU speed and RAM speed like in XMP profile or normal RAM OC.
My mobo is syncing speeds without letting me change the cpu speed.

Have you tried entering the XMP profile settings manually so that you are able to change RAM and CPU multipliers separately?

The base clock on LGA1155 platforms is fixed at 100MHz. RAM settings change only the RAM multiplier and timing, supposedly. They do not impact the CPU multiplier, which is unlocked on the K-series CPUs.
Let me describe what i went through first. I have 2 kits of corsair ram 2k MHz(which is oc clock) but i have discovered that they arent stable with xmp profile @ 2k mhz because I have 2kits which is not advised to do by corsair and will not work at advertised oc speeds.
Anyhow my board downclocked them automatically to 1886mhz and the cpu to 4044mhz and the system is perfectly stable . I can change the cpu multiplier but the speed doesnt increase i guess that's because of the automatic adjustment.
If I set the same ram settings manually will it be stable at 4.2ghz ??(multiplier to 42 thats if it let me apply the cpu speed)

After i read a guide on overclocking ivy bridge i decided to overclock my cpu for the first time, its an i7-3770K
www.overclock.net/t/1291703/ivy-bridge-overclocking-guide-asus-motherboards
Now i am @4.5 GHz stable after 14h of prime95 all of my bios settings are the same as the guide.
vcore 1.14v
max temp on 100% load with prime95: 76 degree
i still need to find my offset.
This guide is so helpful i recommend it.
