I recently got some free time on my hands and I would like to play some games that I might have missed years ago. I'm looking for 2D classic-style RPGs, like the Final Fantasy series before the 7th, Dragon Knight on SNES, preferably 2D, medieval, and for PC. Suggestions? Old, new, doesn't matter. Thanks upfront.
Recommend oldschool 2D rpg?
I highly recommend the classic Chrono Trigger.
Generally speaking I think you should check out what Square Enix is doing on Android. You'll find both re-editions of old classics (like early FFs or Chrono Trigger) and new game with old 8-bit-era RPG feels.
If you're interested in the latter, check out: FF Dimensions.

Zeldas!
Thanks, but I want to play on PC.
My favorite 2D RPGs:
Final Fantasy 6
Lufia: rise of the sinistrals
Zelda: A link to the past
Chrono trigger
Cave Story (A platformer, but worth mentioning)
That's all I can remember right now... All these games are playable on pc through a simple emulator.

Try To The Moon. It's a beautiful short rpg with retro elements:

Try golden sun.
@Enthralled, I tried To The Moon, graphics are bad. Gameplay is awesome, but the graphics are giving me a hard time. I'll try Golden Sun tonight.
I hope you like it. The story is awesome.
