So this thread will be related to all things about the new Thomb Raider game.
Personally, i think that the game ROCKS, both on Gameplay and Graphics.
Though there appears to be a problem now, with Nvidia Geforce Users.
-Its gonna crash a lot.
But i found a solution for that, you have to Disable Tessellation from the advanced tab in options.
Also you have to set manually the aspect ratio (16:9 or 16:10) rather than auto.
With those 2 solutions done, your game wont crash anymore.
-You will notice a slite glittering/freezing during gameplay.
I have GTX 670, I tried the ingame benchmark test, it gave me an averag of 30fps !
Which makes you wanna think that your GPU is kind of not ready for the game on Ultra.
But maybe when Nvidia gets all the required data from the Eidos... and release it in their new update, all things will go right.

download the v1.0.718.4 update, should fix your issues, and you do know that by turning off tessellation you are decreasing a lot of graphical goodies right ?
yasamoka
erm AVOlio that's true, tessellation is what is causing the game to crash on kepler gk104 graphics cards.
Nvidia have already issued a public response stating that they didn't receive the final game code in time for them to release a driver that avoids / fixes this issue.
Your average of 30FPS indicates that you have TressFX on. TressFX is an AMD-developed feature which makes the hair more realistic by using DirectCompute, a sub-feature of DirectX11; however, Kepler GK104 graphics cards are weak in some forms of compute, and TressFX itself is intensive even on the compute beasts, the 79xx cards (40% or so drop in FPS with it enabled). However, those cards currently get much higher averages than 30FPS with it on.
TressFX in its current form is intensive and buggy, even on AMD cards (it being an AMD feature as well), let alone on Nvidia cards. However, the newer Tomb Raider patch fixes some bugs and tames the effects. It should be running better on Nvidia cards (and even on AMD cards) now or soon / later.
TressFX works normally on Nvidia cards, mind. It's just that they're going to be slower at it than the equivalent AMD cards, with the exception of the GTX Titan which is a compute beast; that is if Nvidia fix DirectCompute and OpenCL performance (these technologies compete with CUDA, to Nvidia's disadvantage).

In game progress, can i know how you can earn salvage from the high crates? I can't reach them by jumping. Should i look for candleboxes and throw them on the crates?
AVOlio
If you see any crates ingame, High places, low places.. places that you think are out of your reach, there is always a way that you can collect them, you just have to figure out how. Thats the beauty of the game.
What kind of crates you are talking about? carried in Nets and hanged?
If you havent unlocked in game progress the flame arrow yet, you just have to find a way to get close and put them on fire.
Plus, there are some that you cant reach, and next to it, there are kind of like hanged plates (for lighting) which you can reach and set on fire, and then, pull them with your Rope bow (if you have unlocked it), so they start to tilt and when they touch the hanged salvage, it will get burnt and you can earn them.
Just to make it all easier for you, continue the main missions in-game until you unlock the Flame Bow and Rope Bow and also the flame stick (i mean which you can directly light your stick without searching for fire) and then, fast travel to the locations and earn the before unreached salvages.

I am now about 28 % and i unlocked the Rope Bow and the flame stick.Moving to check out Jessop the pilot. Will try now what you told me .Didnt come in mind at all. Thanks.

There is a nvidia driver fix too. 314.21 beta.

Playing Tomb Raider on xbox360 and WAAAAW!
The graphics are the best I ever saw yet!
I was tempted to buy a geforce 650ti but it wont give me these results and smoothness and don't want to pay a fortune on a geforce 660 when I have my good old xbox360

Yes yasamoka, for an 8 year old console this is something expected because it is not scaling the graphics. Only specifically built for the consoles every big of FLOP there is.
O.T: @yasamoka i want your comment on my PS4 thread.
DarkNe0441
I can play with highest graphics (v-sync and anti aliasing off) without any problem, but there is this graphical glitch which would make me unable to see anything, with some random colors just flickering around the screen, though the game continues normally and you can hear footsteps whatsoever.
Gameplay wise, wow, just wow. I actually thought the game ended when I got into the plane after escaping the Japanese monastery, but I just realized I was only into 38%...

@DarkNeo0441
Yeah i had that problem too... random colors flickering.. but i was still actually playing the game.
But yea, that and the random crashes in the game were fixed for me when i turned off tessellation and set the aspect ratio manually..
I could download the new updates bla bla bla...
But i already finished the game long ago, so , no need xD

There seems to be a problem where you cant fast travel back to previous campsites. Anyone encountered that especially on PC?
