Hello everyone,

What would be your thoughts on a GPU that would make most sense ordering from US i.e. in terms of cost efficiency and availability. In other words, the GPU that you'd want to get. Budget between 200-300 USD. (+shipping)...I saw HD 7950 for 299 USD at amazon where here at pcandparts for over 600$...sure there might be different brands and slight variation but 300 dollars worth of change?

best,
ED
7950s represent an unbeatable performance / price ratio. Completely worth ordering.

Make sure that if you do go for a 7950, get a voltage unlocked one. MSI TF3, Vapor-X (can be unlocked with a BIOS flash), Dual-X.

I second this
7950 is the 670 in AMD. But it's far faster than a 670 and can be found for 280 ish dollars.

When OCed. stock vs. stock, the 670 is a dash faster in games where they're neck to neck, and the 7950 takes over with AA, higher resolutions, compute, and tougher games (Crysis, Sleeping Dogs, Metro 2033, etc...).

This thing OCed...beats stock 680 easily and competes heavily with OCed 680s (heavily OCed 7950 beats even OCed 680).

And it costs almost as half as a 680.
Great! that is like music to my ears. I ordered the "MSI AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 DVI/HDMI/2xMini DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card R7950 TWIN FROZR 3GD5/OC".....

So far, mobo:ud5h and gpu: HD7950 (on the way)....processor will be 3770K which I will buy from here, seeing the prices I think pcandparts has the best around 340+VAT....any insight on cheaper stores?

So those are more or so are settled...the next big question coming in mind is the case and cooling....looking at pcandparts catalogue I am kind of inclined towards the "Level 10 GTS" or " V9 BlacX Edition" and CPU cooler "Frio extreme".....any thoughts on these?

The constraints are keeping case no more than 100 USD and cooler as well. So any experience with these cases handling the heat generated?...and is there any other store with regards to this, since these are all coming out of pcandparts catalogue.

best,
Ed

The V9 has no cable management and building a computer into it would be a nightmare. The Level 10 GTS is good, but not worth the $100.

Cooler Master has great cases for their price.
Get one of these:

Cooler Master K550 RC-550-KWN1 Mid Tower ATX $88.00
Cooler Master K280 RC-K280-KKN1 Mid Tower ATX $58.00

*little of budget but so worth the extra buck*

Cooler Master K380 RC-380-KWR500 / RS-500-PSAR-I3 500W PSU$127.00
Cooler Master SCOUT 2 Black SGC-2100-KWN2 Mid Tower ATX$135.00

Thermaltake is known for cheap cases. Cooler Master is known for epic value cases.
