I am currently in the US. I am considering buying a Nexus 4 for my wife. Contract-less, Google, Easy on the wallet.
What do you guys all think?

If you're buying it from google play or from anywhere else with a similar price, do it.

Go for it. It's has a Snapdragon S4 Quad-Core with 2GB RAM and an 8MP camera for $299. That means it has about the same (If not more) performance as a Note 2 or SIII. Those phones costs 500+. It's being sold here for $550 at Amhaz. There's the 16GB and 8GB version. You can get it, and if she doesn't like it, you can sell it for the same price when you get back to Lebanon. Plus, it's a Nexus! That means, it's a Google flagship device, you will always have the latest updates, best Android experience, and the best bang for your buck.

Only real problem is that it has a thermal throttling issue where it slows its clockspeeds down under heavy load (gaming). You'll see it scoring lower than other phones or similar or even less powerful specs.
Some reviewers have benchmarked it in the freezer (!) and it scored as expected :P

It's a very good phone overall, but I've heard the phone is a bit more fragile then the average phone, I recommend the Sony xperia acro s, it is cheaper then the nexus, better looking but the processor is a bit weaker although it isn't very noticable for an average user + its water/dust proof and much more rigid then most recent phones
