  • Heroes of chaos and order seems to be familiar.

I just saw this mobile game from game loft called Heroes of chaos and order, which to me seems exactly like league of legends and warcraft. the game has the same map as DOTA and League of legends and the same buildings like warcraft, not to mention the healing pool. Anyways I was wondering isn't all the ideas not copy righted by the original producers or did they get license?
a month later
Despite i play it a lot, i think that gameloft copy pc and console games to the mobile market. Like nova : halo , hoc:dota ....
But that good for me as a mobile gamer and its cheaper.
It's a MOBA game. All MOBA games have the same concept. It's like saying Call of Duty copied Counter Strike because it's a first person shooter.
So how come League of legends is a well known MOBA?
Do you play heroes of order and chaos?
I did. Found it boring though.

Your point is?
My point is how come out of all these MOBA games out there League of Legends is the only one that made it.

The big 5M $ stunt they did in season 2 is what got them to where they are. If that gamble failed, they would have been buried now.

They have financial superiority. What about Heroes of Newerth? It's on the same level.
HoN isnt on the same level. I once tried it, found it confusing. And yes that stunt in season 2 was what made them to the top, but where did they get that money from if it wasn't for the amount of people playing.
They didn't even have 1/3 of what they have now. Riot's been heavily working on marketing the game since the launch and since HoN was a mechanic copy from Dota, a lot sticked to Dota.
The ones that wanted a change went to LoL, it's quite simple. That, and having a good marketing strategy. Hard working people still exist in this world:P not that i like that strategy myself.
