-DNA- wroteyour totally wrong the thomson is syncing at 1022/254 not to make the line more stable but because its shitty and don't want to sync more than that the tplink on the other hand is taking the full capability of your line 1024 @ 15.2 SNR is very stable more stable than 1022 @ 9.5 SNR.
syncing at lower speed is not a feature that the thomson has over the tplink all modems has this feature according to the ADSL standards. when a modem tries to sync to the DSLAM it negotiates a sync speed according to the attenuation and Marginal SNR profile configured in the DSLAM usually 6db on ogero so it will sync to the highest speed possible while leaving 6db m.snr. so this makes your thomson not fully utilizing your line (2bits/sec isn't a difference though).
if you look at the errors you would see that you have CRC and HEC errors with just 4 minutes of syncing not mentioning the correctable errors which are way too high for just 4 minutes this should not happen on 9.5db SNR this happens on <6db snr which after that the modem drops the sync.
i have not used the Tplink routers but if its dropping such a stable sync then either it is faulty or its worse than the thomson in terms of hanging to a sync i told you to try different modulations but you didn't tell me what happened with you.
Dude your here seeking help so if you think you know better then no need to ask in the first place you could solve your problem by yourself. and for your information my line is weaker than yours and i get 1024/255 at 14db snr 68db attenuation rock solid with no errors and i get 53ms ping to first hop in france.
I know the Thomson is kind of shitty, lagging a lot as well, otherwise I wouldn't have bought a new router. I did change the modulation as well to G.DMT and it just disconnected. Disconnected again.... Now connected again with this

This is the log if it can help:

After 10 min of connection This is the only thing keeps going up (and still no disconnection which is good)
CRC: 405 589
But it is still in the morning, so the connection lines are kind of cleaner than in the night.
Ibxoful, I have one filter separating the phone line coming from the phone box down stairs. It separates into two, one towards my modem, and the other towards the wall (Telephones).
