i absolutely loved fuduntu but i'm afraid to use it because it's based on fedora not ubuntu... whenever i have a problem with a debian/ubuntu based system i go to ubuntu forums or askubuntu and i get answers instantly, i'm not used to the fedora community and don't know how to fix it, i have used centos on my servers but having a fedora based system on my desktop is totally different, is there an os as slick and as beautiful as fuduntu for a debian user?
I haven't tried fuduntu. If you like debian you can't go wrong with Crunchbang
Crunchbang is great (it's the distro I use) but I only recommend it to users already comfortable around linux systems.

@Fischer: Changing distros often consists of changing communities. There are no reasons to fear this whatsoever. That being said a lot of what you've learned in the Debian world can easily be transposed to the Fedora family of systems. On top of that, ubuntu forums (unlike askubuntu) will gladly help you with any Fedora issue. You're just less likely to find an answer.

If you value the quality of a community, then I second the recommendation for CrunchBang. It has one of the best forums out there. You'll particularly enjoy it if you like minimalism in design.

If you really don't want to change communities but want to discover something new, take a look at Enlightenment. It's a slick looking lightweight window manager. Installing it by hand on top of an existing system can be cumbersome sometimes, (compiling it from source is a major pain in the ass), so I looked for a distro that ships it by default. A quick search on distrowatch returned this: Bodhi Linux. It's based on Ubuntu (so everything you know about Ubuntu is still valid) and configures enlightenment to you by default.

On the other hand, if you want a feature-packed visual bonanza, give PinguyOS a try. (Also an Ubuntu derivative).
Crunchbang is fantastic and i love the fact that they use openbox! i didn't like bodhi that much, pinguyos is fantastic but it might be heavy on my laptop, they install lots of stuff that i don't need. so i might go for crunchbang, and yes i tried e17 last week, it is beautiful indeed.

well i just finished my usek finals, which means i have maybe 3 weeks of doing nothing but playing around, so i might give fuduntu a try, i heard lots of good reviews about it, but if i ever gonna dump ubuntu, i prefer going for arch or opensuse, i tried centos and ubuntu, which means that arch and opensouse are the only popular linux distributions that i haven't touch, opensouse is great but i really want to try arch, though it's a bit hard to install
