Hey everyone, I was considering to get myself an Ipad 3 for Christmas (I'm Forever Alone Guy in-the-flesh), but there's one thing bugging me: I have a standard Lebanese Internet debit card compatible with VISA and MasterCard, and I know that Apple is pretty much US-only focused. Does the "ios" store accept Lebanese debit cards as a medium of payment? Has any of you ever tried it? I've been a client of Android phones for a long time, and they do accept my Lebanese card, does Apple do the same?

Also, I know that the Ipad has no "in-built" USB slot, is the separate USB attachment good?

Thank you in advance for the replies.
@Cullinan86, the Apple store accepts any card issued by major issuers like VISA and Master. When you register for an Apple ID, you submit your country, in your case, Lebanon. That's all. It will work just fine. The only difference is when you sign in to download apps. By default, the app store uses the US store. When you sign in with a Lebanese account, it switches to the Lebanese store. Don't really know what the difference is, never had any issues downloading anything and I am getting the same offers as the US. My ActionMovieFX recently got a Christmas update for free and unlocked 2 HD effects for free.
when you connect the ipad for the first time and open itunes, it will ask you to create an account, cancel it and go to market within itunes without signing in, then on your right if you scroll down a bit you will see the "top free apps" click on any of those apps and try to download it, now it will ask you to sign in, from there create a new account, this way when choosing a card type, you get the option of not registering a card
@cullinan86, if you choose the US store not the Lebanese store, you wont be able to use your lebanese CC, so choose Lebanon as a store, then you'll be able to utilize your cc.
and concerning the difference between stores, is that some apps aren't available in the Lebanese store and vice versa....
Good luck :)

Are you sure you can download without registering a card? I bought an iPad today and I haven't been able to download anything yet. I have a debit card which did not work for me, so I was thinking of getting an internet card or maybe a credit card. If there's some way of bypassing the payment information step, that would be great - at least for now.

EDIT: Ok I've just tried this and I confirm that it works. But this really sucks; why can't I just choose the "None" option with an existing Apple ID?!
i don't know about existing id's, but i always do this while creating a new account and you get an option to choose "none" for credit cards
