Here's a very quick overview of the different sets of headphones I've tried.

A quick disclaimer: I'm not a sound expert by any stretch. However I am an amateur musician with a strong passion for both playing and listening to music.

Since I listen to music for long stretches at a time (sometimes lasting up to 10 hours), I value comfort more than anything else. This means being able to wear the headphones for long hours without them hurting my head, but also being able to play music at a decent volume (to avoid inner ear aches) while maintaining a clear sound. Some people will look for headphones that will shout music as loud as possible in their ears, that's not me.

I am partial to lightweight comfortable gear, I don't like the big buff stuff.

Also, I have a fairly large head. I've always had troubles finding glasses, hats and other head gears. Keep this in mind when I write that a certain piece makes me ache.

Beats
I never actually owned Beats headphones, but I did try them on several occasions. (I actually considered buying them for a while). There's no denying that these are very good pieces, but they're not the best in the market. Their main problem is that they're clearly overpriced. I was not ready to spend this much while competition had higher quality products for half the price.

I would suggest them for anyone who needs strong basses, enjoy the "fashion" factor, and don't want to spend time and energy looking for the perfect fit in the myriad of choices others are offering.

Also you must be able to afford them.

BOSE - OE
link on Amazon

I got these a year and a half ago for the price of 160 euros (~190$).

It was the first time I ever bought Bose gear. By far, their greatest quality was comfort. There's a perfect cushion between the ear and the speakers making it very enjoyable and not intrusive at all.

Sound quality is decent, although it suffers from lack of noise reduction. This can be fixed by playing music at a slightly loud volume, especially in crowded places, but this can be tiresome on the long run.

The biggest flaw of this piece is that it's fragile. You have to take great care of it and cannot leave it hanging around (or stuff it in your bag/pockets/...). Most notably, the (retractable) audio jack got ruined after 9-10 months of extensive use. Since it's retractable, it's easily replaceable. The bad news is that Bose discontinued the model so they don't sell the jack anymore. The good news is that it's a pretty standard male/female jack, so I had no problem finding a replacement.

Since Bose discontinued it, this model has now been replaced by the OE2. According to online reviews and accounts from friends, it has similar sound and improved build quality.

I definitely recommend these if you enjoy listening to loud music for prolonged periods of time.

This piece is a great choice if you're on a budget. It sells to approximately 80-90 USD, has a decent sound quality and presents an overall solid body.

Sound quality suffers a bit from lack of noise reduction (just like above, you'll play at loud volumes). And generally speaking, the headband is not very flexible. It starts hurting after an hour or two, so you have to take regular 10-15 mins pauses throughout the day.

I recommend this piece if you're on a budget and are willing to sacrifice comfort a bit.

Sennheiser HD25-1 II

I just got these for Christmas (because I have the coolest girlfriend in the world!). It's a bit early to give a full review, but I can already say I'm very pleased. Since it's a gift, I don't know the exact price, but I assume it's somewhere slightly above 200euros (~250$).

First of all, the headband is very flexible and lean, making it very comfortable for prolonged use. Being closed headphones, I was skeptical about this, but clearly I was wrong. Carefully laid out cushions on the top and on the ear pieces makes it fit very smoothly. The headband is perfectly adjustable, and presents a slightly unlikely characteristic: It can be split into 2 bands to adjust to your skull.

It does provide decent noise reduction, although nothing comparable for higher end Noise Reduction like the Bose Quiet Comfort line, but it's enough to play music at a decent level even in the most crowded places (Paris metro in the morning rush hour is insanely noisy). It has wonderful bass (although not the out-of-balance kind of bass the Beats give), mid range are really mellow and trebles feel light and clear. Overall it provides a similar sound quality to the Supra, but at much lower volumes :)

Despite its flexibility and super light weight, the piece looks and feels very solid. Moreover, parts look easily detachable/replaceable although you will need to pull out a screwdriver to pick them apart.

Finally, I love the look and the design of the piece. In contrast to the Beats which are heavy, flashy and very intrusive, this one presents a lightweight minimalism that will go unnoticed. Honestly, most people won't notice you're carrying (mid-to-)high end gear when looking at you.

Final words
As usual, I hope this helps. I don't know much about the availability of each of these models in Lebanon, maybe others can fill in for me?
In any case, if anyone has further questions about each of these models (mainly the last 3 ones), feel free to ask. I'd love to expand more.

my question now :p does SENNHEISER HD418 HEADPHONES owns a good sounf isolation good bass ect. And is it optimised for mobile phones such as blackberry torch 9860
honestly i have no idea about the HD418 quality, but as i said its definitely lower end, if you can wait a bit, save a little, you'll be glad you did later :)
unbreakable wrotemy question now :p does SENNHEISER HD418 HEADPHONES owns a good sounf isolation good bass ect. And is it optimised for mobile phones such as blackberry torch 9860

Never use Blackberries for music, just buy a Chinese mp3 player or anything, way better than BB, proof: Gsmarena.com (frequency response curve is like a sad smile :P )

Flatter better...

So basically, mids are high, bass and treble are low... Always look for a flat one, and etc... (speaking basics, or in contrast)

But maybe its the best BB in audio, (still crappy to others): Pretty flat for a BB...

EDIT:

BAD: Oh that's the Bold 9900 ;)

Now, the Wave files (.wav) you get them from audi Cds/albums, your Dj friens should have a lot of them really, Djs usually depend on lossless audio amd not mp3s.
Both Wave and Flac files are available on the net but not on free sites, not that I know of at least, but also available on sharing sites and as torrents, but I cannot give you any link, against the rules of the forum.
What about the m4a extension files ?? u forgot to mansion them , are they a lossless like the flac and wav , i guess they are because the sounds quality is perfect and the size is too large ..
I didnt mention all the formats, I named the most common. Now for the .m4a, it usually contains apple's lossless format, but some m4a may contains lossy format, so it depends from the source. But yea sound quality should be excellent.
I know I'm probably late to this, but you might want to check the Grado SR80i for $100 on Amazon. We get all sorts of headphones at the T3 towers, including the infamous Beats lineup (which honestly sound like overpriced thump-thump-thump ghetto boxes).
Check the Grado, and you can never go wrong with a Sennheiser.

Finally, can I ask you why haven't you considered in-ear headphones (earbuds)? You can get some serious quality on the cheap (e.g. Shure)

Hey guys,

I am wondering, and hopefully i'll get some feedback on which earphone to buy based on anyones experience here.

The 4 earphones im looking into are | Bose Quiet Comfort 15 | Beats Mixr | Pioneer DJ 2000 | Audio Technia M50s |

Been saving up so I can afford one of them, any input is greatly appreciated. I used to own the BQC15, they were amazing to be honest. But I'd like to know if anything could be cheaper / same sound. Noise cancellation is not something I care much for anymore. Not when I was caught watching porn in them several years back but that's a different story.

I did a lot of research, but so many mixed opinions and I just don't know really know what to go with no more.

Anyway, thanks for the help :)
Sam,
First of, are you looking for headphones or earphones, your post say earphones and the ones you mentionned are headphones.
Second, can you provide more details as to what you are looking for exactly? Bass, clarity, volume, transparency, fidelity?
Or do you just want the best headphones for the money (in which case, I again recommend the Grados S80i for 99$. You can't beat those for the price).

Oh, and forget about Beats. Terribly overpriced in my opinion.

@d3ad, Seinheiser is one of the best of all time, but there's also the kind of music that you'd want to listen to. I'm a huge fan of opera and classic musicals, and when it comes to those, I'm afraid Seinheiser falls slightly behind Bose. Don't get me wrong, I just love both, and I'm not saying Bose is better, I'm just saying, you have to keep an eye on your requirements.
Hey!

Thanks a lot for your reply, I meant headphones. My bad!

Honestly, I just want headphones that have a good balance of what you mentioned. I'm not sure that transparency and fidelity are, I'm sorry I don't know much about headphones. Been reading up and learning but a newbie here.

I had a look at the Grados which you said are great, but I was looking for something to cover my ears, not on ear if you know what I mean?

Thanks again for the help!

Still didn't get it Sam,

"but I was looking for something to cover my ears, not on ear if you know what I mean?"

On ear covers your ears, but I assume what you want is something that goes inside your ear. Which means you want "earbuds" or "in-canal earphones".

Where are you planning on buying to be able to give you the best advice?

Basically I know there's on ear and over the ear headphones. I just guessed that means on ear is.. well on the ear and over the ear means it goes all around and covers the ears. I just searched it up, what I meant is Full-size headphones, not on-ear headphones.

I can buy from Amazon US, that wouldn't be a problem. There are a few also I saw from Virgin here in Beirut, like the Pioneer HDJ 500, but damn everything is over expensive here. Then again if I order from outside it will cost the same between shipping and customs.

So whatever you believe will be a good choice I will just buy be it here or from Amazon without thinking twice since you know what you're talking about.

In ear - I used to own the B&W C5 ( http://www.bowers-wilkins.com/Headphones/Headphones/C5/overview.html ) until they stopped working. Now I'm on the one that came with my old phone. Surprisingly they sound awesome.

Many thanks!
Well, a lot of it is subjective so if he thinks that Dre are awesome...
Where do you see awesome in any of my posts? I was just asking, didn't mean to give out that impression. Quite honestly they are nice looking. Everyone has them, something must be right, either good sound or good marketing.

Again I'm new to this, was just reaching out for some help.

Thanks again.

You read irony or negative feelings in my post where there were none.
It was a sincere post. It is very much a subjective matter.
