Metalloy wroteapperently I'm going for a tablet.: coby kyros, the new models that comes with a capacitive screen, offered at maliks, looks like a really good buy!
I tried the one with ICS it is crappy, I think a kindle paper white is better if she loves reading.
can you please elaborate why it is crappy?
kindle paper is out of my budget i guess.

It was this one that I tried not sure about the others. I found the experience on it crappy because I didn't find the UI being very responsive with it, seemed a bit slow to me plus after an hour or so it heats up a bit, not too serious but somehow annoying. It is usable but doesn't offer a great experience such that of an ipad or a nexus 7.
Stop with the geeky presents :P

I just came back from beirut souks. Got a christmas present for a she from a shop called Lush. They have soaps and soothing bathing products. Stuff that smell nice. I say good enough for a birthday present.

Not that model, but i guess we can safely assume that the UI is similar, and I' oretty sure that the experience is not on par with Ipads and Nexus, but it is on a different price point to begin with.
thanks for your feedback.

this is a great idea :D I think ill keep that for valentine ;)
Metalloy, How about getting her a nice purse, they LOVE such stuff. Trust me, I've been the only boy in my class for 4 years (Thank God not this year) But girls love make up, expensive cloths, bags and shoes. A bracelet is also a nice gift. But if it hasn't been that long for your relationship, I wouldn't get jewelry unless it's something serious.
I just remembered a birthday gift I gave for a girl I was dating a couple of years ago(only relationship(almost) so far) It was a $10 book, no wonder why she left me on that same day :P I am not used to getting or giving any gifts usually.
Don't buy clothing or accessories, women are very anal about their taste in such.

Either head to the Body Shop in City Mall and get her a collection of stuff or buy her a gift certificate at some Spa.
You don't need to choose the bag. You can take her with you, and not let her look at any prices. Just let her pick something and just buy it for her without her looking.
I did buy her a purse few months ago, and from Zara if I'm not mistaken, and I didnt even have an occasion back then, we were just passing by. I dont want to get a purse this time, i think I should a little bit more.
And Avok, why is there only girls in your class XD
Xterm: totally right, I wouldnt buy any clothing for her if she's not with me to choose.
I told her about the coby tab and she really liked it, so I guess for now this is what I'll get.

It doesn't make sense to leave someone because they "only" bought you a $10 gift at your birthday. Even if you don't bring anything at all is OK. It is my attitude that when you are dating someone, you take them as they am (as long as it's not too bad...). Now every person is different but I'd say leaving someone over such a thing is diverging from normality.
Metalloy wroteI did -.-
it seems like I need to make a clarification paragraph:
I did ask her what she wants, she doesn't know, so I suggested few ideas and she didn't seem to like them much, than we agreed on jewelry as a last resort, but I would still like to find something else, so I referred to you guys for some fresh ideas.
okey dokes. still though, is there anything you think that she talks about most?

Actually I never really knew exactly why but that's just one of the assumptions, speaking of gifts :P
My suggestions would be two wine's bottles. French wine, find Bordeaux or Bourgogne (pinot noir is my favourite =) ).

offtopic: Don't buy any clothes. Lebanese's stores are rip-off even the most expensive one and the most " Classy ". I brought one day a tie (Ralph Lauren) from a well known store in Beirut. when i opened it, it was rubbish, some nylon-china-made-tie. I always get my stuff from outside.

Forget the Coby, it's a disaster. The thing is just way too slow; not slow in the sense that it won't run the latest 3d game, but it's actually super slow when it comes to daily tasks. Even the Android 4 version of the Coby is bad (I had one and I got rid of it a few days later).

I would suggest you to buy something physical, not an experience, unless the experience is really really good. People respond better to experiences but as long as they make a nice impact; otherwise neither of you will remember this birthday or the gift.

Suggestions:
1- Nexus 7 (I think same price as Coby or slightly more expensive)
2- ipod touch (ok it's not an iphone but she can still use it for Pinterest, skype, games, music, videos, etc...)
3- Digital Cam, girly style, pink or whatever color girls like)
4- Toy Watch, Ice Watch? Michael Kors, etc... let her choose the color and design.
A DVD? Maybe add something else too if you feel it's too little.
