Many of us are living in rented apartments or other situations that does not permit the use of a phone lines and therefore have no access to dsl.

i have been using the WISE box since 2008 and for a while it used to be the fastest connection in the country.
the internet section of this forum treats the ADSL question a lot and well , however the information on WISE is slightly lackluster.

i m opening this thread for Wireless modem internet and mainly wise , now i dont know the technical mambo jambo about how it differs from ADSL (other than the fact thats its wireless ...duhhh ).

Hopefully we get a techie to answer that for us ....
in the meantime i ll be reviewing the ISPs i have tried

NB : when latency is mentioned , its ping to www.google.com unless otherwise specified
TERANET -->TERRASMART

Tested that isp for 3 years plus from ASHRAFIEH , next to sassine

Internet recharge at the time was new, they were the only ones offering it

Rarely any connection problems or any downtime.
latency was around 150 ms BUT unstable except in the early hours.

To note : it seemed like terra "cycled" its clients , 2 weeks on 150ms , 2 weeks on 350ms (even more unstable)

Support : the guys don't know what they are talking about. I will not give details about the absurd things i ve been told over 2yrs otherwise this will turn into a rant thread.
to note: if u have issues :ask to talk to either HUSSEIN or ALI.... they are the only 2 that seem to know stuff.

Reason for leaving : since the 5th of November latency is upwards of 350ms

skype ok , but no video even on 1gb connection , woudnt work well at all.
youtube = direct screeening with no nee to pause on 240 p ONLY

gaming:
LOL : on EAST : unplayable after 5 pm , ok before
STARCRAFT2 : unplayable , for some weird reason the modem (the actual modem) resests by itself.
GW2 : before the 5ht of nov , could play well , now laggy but still playable (not pvp thou)
Lebanese ISPs have a reverse standard of quality due to monopolies and crappy infrastructure, you pointed that it happens in Lebanon (before the IMEWE) wireless solutions are way faster than cable connections, and that's really awful and what's more disgusting is we shared that situation with Africa, so lions there can get the same connection we had.
now the situation is relatively a bit better, but we still need a decent infrastructure at least on 10452 square KMs and let the wireless thing for mobile applications.
SODETEL

tested around 2010 -2011 when i "cheated" on TERRA (he had a tumultuous relationship)
need an update if someone could send me some .

latency was like the stock market , one day up , one day down and one day jumping off a roof while filling for bankruptcy

SUPPORT : now this is where sodetel "shines" , the only tech support guys i had the "pleasure" to talk to where complete and utter misfits. some maybe dont know what the wireless modem is ....

SKYPE : only sound
Youtube : even on 240p needs to be paused
Gaming:

--> US server MMOs , 200-300ms ping to rappelz , flyff, 2moons (dekaron US)

Reason for leaving :
- my cat gives better support , or at least has a better approach to the client.
- did not support online payment
IDM :

currently under testing, post will be re -edited

latency :350ms ...also :S
longbit reporting for duty.
i can answer questions related to wise, or the machine it self (troubleshooting etc...)
7 days later
Been a wise box user since 2004, enjoyed the start up of the service had good pings all day long about 2006-7 started the decline hoped around all isps . currently using idm 1M plan not reaching the 120 kbps more in the range of 90 , fairly reliable with the latency twitches. Based on my discussions with all the technical teams of the various isps i came across whom never provided any help, except in the good old starting days were they used to actually assign the cpn to a server with low congestion wow player at that time and using wise as isp , so the only recurring answer that was plausible enough was that the issue lies in pesco or presco forgot which ( the wirless server provider antenna, operator, user to isp backbone ...) the issue being that they are not expanding and having to deal with saturation of their links to the isps and antennas .
Longbit is this true or are the isps dumping it on someone else's back typical lebanese ?
At one stage i was pissed to the point that i actually contacted persco and as expected they gave me the phone finger, more or less this is what we offer take it or leave we cannot do anything about it.

Current status internet wiped,
